so i am wanting to make a personal chapter that is unique (4th ed chapter creation) i enjoyed having special rules for my chapter to make it more unique gameplay. 5thed is more like vanilla marines with some sprinkles. so i figured in a fun game i could still use said chapter creation while incorprating stuff from 5th ed.
i know it sounds like i want my cake and want to eat it to but hey who doesnt
anyways i am starting with my chapter a small combo of blood angels and marines (again cake and eat it too)
ok ALL tactical squads and dev squads may take infiltrate or tank hunters at 3pts per model
all troops count as having true grit (may use combat weapon with bolter)
Drawbacks are 1 less heavy support
i dont have my codex on hand so it might be slightly off.
WS6 BS5 S6 F12 S12 R11 I5 A3
Claws of Vengence (count as blood talons)
Banner Of ....((havent figured it all out)) (all units with in 12 gain furious charge and feel no pain)
ok so it might be a bit broken but its my first try. anyways i was thinking something like 300 some odd points
(i have 2 more special characters for the chapter including full fluff as to why when how what and again why)
anyways this is a test to see how it could be worked on.
agreed, if your wanting to do rules like in the old dex then it will only really work in the old dex. tbh loosing a heavy support slot isnt much of a drawback either. try to create new characters for the new dexes using the current dexes characters as a outline. ie, your characters would replace combat tactics with counterattack that they auto pass? or they all have a bonus attack but dont get plus 1 for charging? and squads may be upgraded with x rule for y points. though when i think about it your character, whilst not a extream build dude, allows you to be decent at everything which dosent really seem to be a good theme, they are good at sneeky, shooty anti tank, can take the charge as effectively as if normal marines charged, and with the bonus of the character they can charge better and take damagebetter(course if he dies so does that 1 boon) consider dropping the range of his boost and picking a focus for the way your armys playstyle should be and perhaps look at bjorns rules as hes the only character dread currently that i know of...
