So I faced a particularly nasty (felt nasty) list just wanted to see from the actual players of the army what they fear when they field it.
1) First Unit I believe he said had 5 Henchmen with a storm shield and 5 death cult assassins which have 5 power weapon atks on charge. Now thats pretty brutal and as a Chaos Marine player I have NO clue what I should counter it with. I would need mass low str shots I feel. Don't know.
2) A Librarian that can cast 2 powers in your turn and 2 powers in my turn. Shrouding on a Stormraven. Just making sure this is legal really because it just sounds even more brutal than a Farseer.
Ha thought it'd be fun facing a henchmen army. Not. Looking forward to facing Purifiers again.

The best way to beat GKs is with shooting. Bring as many guns to the table as you can manage, and keep your distance. As much as possible, you want to outrange them.
As for the henchman assault unit, remember that none of them have assault grenades. Stick to cover so you can at least strike first. They are fragile and can be easily killed ... if you get to strike first with enough attacks, that is.
Even better: shoot them dead before they get there.
And yes, the libby casting shrouding on the stormraven is entirely legal. Ideally, you'll have enough autocannons and missiles to get past the cover saves. Also, just keep your distance. Castle up. If you must suck up an initial assault, be certain to have available only little units you are willing to sacrifice. Once they are obliterated, you will have lost virtually nothing, but will have stranded the uber-unit out in the open, ripe for the death by shooting.
ninjabackhand: point and click, again, really? even after i give you an military term "shock tactic" you still call it point and click.

Just like number6 said, shoot away and stay in cover especially when fighting henchmen. The other day my buddie and swapped armies, just for a laugh, and he took 2 9 man squads of Deathcult assassins in stormravens. NASTY! Only he charged through cover and I got to hit him first and killed 7 of them before they could attack me with a 5-man squad of grey hunters. (I had forgotten at that time that I had attached a wolf guard to that squad as well, I forgot to put him on the table, so I missed out on 4 extra attacks.)
Just remember that if he is in a storm raven or land raider crusader then he can gret frags
Not a storm raven surely. A LRR/LRC yes but I'm pritty sure ravens don't have the frag launchers.
