Ok, I must admit I'm not that overexagurated (however that is spelled) over OK (but that can be taken in another forum) but the Leadbelchers look pretty cool and the Ogryns don't (IMO offcourse)... See my point.
Do you think it would work? Look good? Offcourse I would skip the gnoblars and all as they resemble gretchins to much. But the rest..
Also one should'nt forget that they are in plastics..which the ogryns..is'nt/are'nt. (damn I'm getting a low grade in english this year)
Hm.. Ogres? I personally like the current Ogryn models..well just their looks. They cost way too much..I wonder if theyd ever be remade in plastic and cheaper form. I personally think those Ogres look a little too warhammer medievalish and a little evil. When I first saw them I thought they were from Chaos even though they aren't. Maybe they'd look nice for Traitor Ogryns actually. They might look good with really extensive conversions like Flak Armor that fits their hugeness. They look huge too!
Don't get me started on how much I hate Ogryns!
Not only am I against fielding non-human units in my Guard army, I cant stand that space ogres are even a choice!
Why can't we have men in guerilla suits (from the starship troopers book) that have ogryn-like stats?
Once in a great while, Ill use Space Wolf models as Ogryns when I play my friend.
It just seems to make a lot more sense for a human/imperium close combat type unit to be powered suit wearing schmoes rather than some hidous alien ogres. Why can't the Guard borrow some Space Marine technology?
Or maybe there could be some sort of infantry type 10 man squad (even if it counted as an elite choice like Ogryns) that specialized in close combat like Ogryns do. Maybe the could have bionics that make them stronger, and would have close combat weapons. ANYTHING, just NOT orges!
What about some military police looking models? Maybe instead of a CC oriented pack of smelly ogryn, there was say, a cool looking squad of 5 Guardsmen mounted on motorcycles that had similar stats?
I also dont use ratling models, though I do use "ratling squads" in my lists.
I am the Aquila-Guerilla!
I've got "Ratling squads" as well, but no actual midgets in my army. ^_^ I'm sure you could make all sorts of conversions instead of Ogryns, 311...just gotta find the right stuff.
A good general does not lead an army to destruction just because he knows it will follow.

have you ever seen the Animatrix?
Second Rennisance (part2)
those powersuits thingys...
god if they had models for those things... i'd soil myself
those would get me to use ogryns
just get a few larger model bases and go to town making any kinda of conversion you feel fit.
