I haven't been on in a while. I've been running campaigns and mainly playing Deathwatch RPG. Now I have a question for those who know a new space marine chapter has been "released" called the Storm Wardens. They are one of the main chapters in deathwatch. Do you think this army would be viable on the table top or are they just another spin off of The Iron Hands?
Heres some Info:
Storm Wardens - Warhammer 40K Wiki - Space Marines, Chaos, planets, and more
They are kind of like a mix between White Scars and Iron Hands. Where the White Scars have the Tulwar, the Storm Wardens have Sacris Claymore which is kind of the same thing. They also Mount full scale assaults with plenty of drop pods and heavy armour ie: Preds, Land Raiders and Whirlwinds
I think the storm wardens are perfectly viable, now there seems to be a number of ways you could go with this,
you could have a khan style white scars list and just paint as storm wardens and create your own character names,
I quite like the idea of having a chapter master with a full honour guard and use them as the Tempest Blades
or maybe even use Codex Space Wolves as they are described as being feral and about challenging there opponent
"The traditions of the Chapter mirror those of the feral tribes of Sacris, which place a strong emphasis on close combat and testing one's self against the strongest of foes upon the field of battle."
Although saying that you could also use black templars in a similar way
If He is For me, Who shall stand against me
I think this would be very feasible indeed.
