Codex Dark angels is good. Also the novel angels of darkness, and a couple of the short stories in "deathwing".

Dark Angels were the first chapter (back then chapters were more like leigons)
thats why they have the ability to have so much plasma

there homeworld is Calbin, which was destroyed.

during the horus hersay a lot of Dark Angels went to chaos. now they are on a never ending mission to hunt them all down and make them repent

so now they live on a giant asteriod that they call "The Rock". and they can control where is goes

 :o :shifty:   ^_^

I don't think it blew up, since I read in the GW eye of terror aftermath report thing that they defended "the ruins of Caliban" during the black crusade. Successfully defended, it says, so they must have been attacked. They also captured the Voice of something or other (I forget what).

They aren't actually a chaos legion....more like outcasts. Called the fallen, it can be argued that they are the good guys, since they raced to help the emperor during the horus heresy, while the rest of the dark angels weren't sure what the hell was going on, so they waited to see who was the good guy (I don't think anyone knew that horus was the bad one right at the beginning).

The rock is cool, it just flies around and has a whole fleet based around it, and the whole chapter lives there when not off fighting.

Lion El'Jonson blew it up. Upon hearing of Luthor's betrayal and turning those under his command from the Emperor he ordered his entire fleet to orbital bombard the planet, such was the firepower thrown at the world it split and cracked into pieces.

Then Jonson teleported down to face Luthor, the two now duelled one Primarch the other corrupted and empowered by Chaos. Jonson was almost defeated but before Luthor could kill him he fell to his knees, the darkness of chaos had been lifted from his eyes. He knelt beside Jonson and wept, then the planet split apart.

The Loyalist DAs went back to the surface to look for Jonson, but never found him. Instead they found Luthor in a ball mumbling about the "Watchers In The Dark" and that Johnson will return someday.

So to hide their dark past the DAs now hunt those DAs that turned, and have named themselves as well as successor chapters as "The Unforgiven", thye hunt those "Fallen" and will force them to repent to clear their chapters name.

Oh and Luthor, he's kept in the deep of the Rock. Each chapter master gets a chance to make him tell them where Jonson is, but get nothing from him. And Jonson is even deeper in the Rock, kept alive in status by the Watchers. But the DAs don't know this.

Do the fallen think they can redeem themselves? Like saying "um...wer'e sorry we left, can we come back?"

Also, in the 'heroes and villains' series, a story of cypher (old name luther), said when he realsied what he had done (fallen, killed lion?) was "lieka veil lifting", and I think now is on some twisted kind of redemption, and of course will never be let back in.

They are a cool chapter indeed.

Nope, do you think the name "Interrogator-chaplain" was just a name? When a fallen is captured it is their job to tourture them till they say they repent and beg forgivness or just tourture them. Either way they die.

Also, in the 'heroes and villains' series, a story of cypher (old name luther), said when he realsied what he had done (fallen, killed lion?) was "lieka veil lifting", and I think now is on some twisted kind of redemption, and of course will never be let back in.
Dunno about this, but as GW has problems with changing fluff.. Luthor and Cypher aren't the same, Luthor is in the rock - and is a gibbering mess. Cypher is said to be Luthors second in command (I think) and that by taking the Lion Sword back to Terra and presenting it to the Emperor it will be reforged and the fallen forgiven. Or so it's thought.

there are loads of theories regarding Cypher and the sword he is carrying but never using.

The sword is supposedly the old Sword of Lion'El Johnson. And apparently it broke when he fought cypher and when it is reforged all Dark Angels are forgiven.

Some theories say he is the one who will return to Terra to slay the emperror, so that he can be reborn.

Others say he is a sensei and that his invulnerable save is actually a protection by the emperror.

No matter what, sightnings of him have apparently been getting closer and closer to terra...
Shut up and play.
