Well i think it is a great army (otherwise, i wouldn't have it my self). Let me give you a tip, if you don't already use it.
Take 2 dreadnoughts with plasma cannons and a tactical squad with plasma cannon. And if you have 120 pt to spend on something els you it to buy a vindicare assasin. As it can now fire on units in close combat (must need line of site). Take the difficult targets awaiy with the plasma cannons and the Lords with the assasin. This way, you'll have a much better chance of getting there without loosing to much marines.
as i have said before bart.
don't rely to much on plasma cannons, they're nice anti infantry, but there are times when you need something else..
I agree with the vindicare assasin idea.
it's real great, and you get to kill a lot of nice big kahunas (hq, sergeant, heavy weapon carriers)
I actually agree with the former, but only really against necrons and specialist space marine squads (termis, and better yet, assault squads)
I really dont like assasins, they are the biggest cop-out in my opinion. You play templars or whatever (ok, except daemonhunters) so use that army. The sad thing is ppl are now using things such as assasins and daemonhunters in all of their army lists (esp. things with weak close combat ability such as guard). This means that basically ppl dont really have to worry about their armies weaknesses, they can just use another to cover it
besides, assassinations can only occur with a two thirds vote of the imperial senate, using them in hundreds of games is a really good way of losing opponents
ya can take allies..
a space marine army can take a assasin.
everyone plays with a few special rules, maybe you not.
and even so, if someone takes a assassin, then you may as well, or you just could say, NO to that person wielding an assassin
i think u missed the point...
assassins are used only as a last resort. Rules wise, yeah u can use them whenever, but it can really unbalance the game and that sucks. Basically its a easy way out, it takes little skill to use someone with those abilities.
basically most ppl who regularly play against oponents who always take assassins get sick of them, from my experience at least.
think of it as playing the rules, not the game
i myself don't use special characters.
but if 1 would want to use it, I don't really care.
they die first anywayz.
i agree, special characters are really a waste of points most of the time (nice models though)
So long as it doesnt unbalance the game, most things are reasonable enough to be allowed
assassins are cool, if the opponent doesnt say no at the beginning of the game then tell him to shut up and quit whinning when there slaughtering his troops, Its really stupid, people need to quit being children.
"Waaaaaa that Assassins cheap" <----- Idiot
"SHUT THE HELL UP YOU SISSY #@*&^!!" <--------ME
this is a prime example of were players should set the grounds befor the game
ya know, with that kind of an attitude, not a lot of people wil be willing to play against you.
im going to assume that blood god was joking.....for his sake he better be
