This topic goes along with another thread I have started, about starting a new army. I like CC and I love power weapons, more for the modeling aspect in that I hate painting chainswords. So who would it be, I know normally SM don't get many so a specialist chapter would be nessecary. Now I know it isn't Dark Angels, THye only get one or two more than a nomral SM army now. Ultra Marines witht he honour guard can field alot I know. BLood Angels field a few as well, but as I understand right now, SPace Wolves are the kings of power weapons, or am I wrong?
Blood angels honour guard means your HQ body guar can be totally equiped with power weapons, but it does cost a fortune (points) and unbalance the army. SW can get the most in the squads with one notable exception:
DA deathwing, being an all terminator army means everyone has one of:
But I suspect that doesnt meet your need, I would go the SW route
Everything you have been told is a lie!
Although this suggestion may be a little off the wall its worth having a look. For power weapons have a look at the Grey Knights. (Daemon Hunters) All of their characters have weapons which count as power weapons although they go under a diffrent name.
Although not a codex from the Space Marine Army you can field a pure Grey Knight Marine force from the Deamon hunters list. It may be worth a little consideration.
To each their own. For those not strong enough to pursue it - damnation.
1 in every unit ,2 in assault squads, that alot of power weapons.
but for your needs, ill check out the new ultramarines, as they have the honour guards that have power weapons.
Right Hand of the Emperor!

I would say 13th company or normal Space Wolves can have the most power weapon attacks. A Storm Claw squad can take two power weapons, plus the pack leader can take one from his wargear. Without charging they could get up to 12 power weapon attacks, hitting on 3's. Thats going to hurt.
The downside thought to 13th is that they're expensive points wise, 24 points for per grey slayer, but they can have two melta guns in a squad. You need to be experienced to play them effectivly.
Well, let's see.
Blood Angels - As previously stated, full power weapon honour guard
Grey Knights - The basic troop doesn't have one. Just gives a strength bonus.
Black Templars - As stated, one in each squad, two in assault squads
Space Wolves - Two in each Grey Hunter pack, 3 in each Blood Claws pack.
13th Company - Don't remember. o.O
So, unless 13th Company gets more, Space Wolves are the clear winners.
Sam Mills (1959-2005) and Mark Fields - Keep Pounding
Cry Cheese, And Let Loose The Wraithlords And Templar!
one in each grey slayers squads
3 in each stormclaw squad
edit: but an insane number of attacks per squad
what about Ravenguard... lotta claws
deathwing. every unit has power wepons except for the landraider (duh)
that is if you dont mind a pure term army.
K, to lay this out real quick:
I own a Daemon Hunters army so I like them.
NOT a big fan of Deathwing, too many would call ti cheese though we SM player sknow termies can die to dice just like everything else.
Space Wolves I owna small force of, going to make them a very, VERY well converted and painted army.
Where can I find the Rules for Ravenguard?
