I am wondering, on a budget of $20 a month until i get a job, is it smart to switch from DE to IG. i have so far gotten a codex and a troop set and a hq for DE...so should i switch? cause i really want to...DE are kinda boring without fluff that fits with the W40k storyline
Leaving DE for IG? Bahhh. :glare: I did the reverse, switched from IG to DE. Well, whatever floats your boat. I had 20 Cadian Shocktroopers, a Chimera, and some Heavy Weapon units before I took the switch (and I don't have a budget). Do whatever you'd like, but send me a PM if you're looking to get rid of your DE... (Y)
I'd say go try to get a proxy game with IG and see if you like playing them before just abandoning the DE. I just kinda jumped into the IG boat without fully understanding that I was gonna need huge numbers of troops to combat a medium sized Space Marine force. Fluff can be made up about any race's army out there. Its just up to you to do it.
I don't think I'd leave the Guard for anything now that I've played with them (and beaten that medium sized Space Marine force)

3rd Company, White Templars
Shas'O Dal'yth Shi'Or'es
IVth Dal'yth Hunter Cadre
If you're really worried about money, stay away from IG.IF you want a big army, you need insane amounts of troops, and troops cost money.Plus the tanks are far from cheap.Besides, whadaya mean DE don't have fluff? They have no less or more then regular Eldar do,because their fluff is basicly the same.
Every army has fluff, even if you have to, make some up!

Unfortunately IG is not a very economical army choice.
I am the Aquila-Guerilla!
No I agree IG is not a very economical army choice. But just take it slow... Slow is fun! It gives you time to paint and convert!

ok thanx guys i still am gonna go for the imperial gaurds cause i am trying to get a job (but it aint going to well ATM). I know that the IG cost alot of money to get a large enough army for even 500 pts. Thanx again...
