k.. my freind [who plays IG] wanted me to ask this question
can he deep strike part of his HQ platoon thing [i have little understanding of IG matters heh] but not the whole thing
i think what he wants to do is drop guys with demolition charges.. but wants to keep his officer with his other troops [conscripts]
i had a little look myself and what it says in the IG codex is a little confusing so could somone help
thanks ~
The codex states that they count as a single unit for deployment, but may be deployed at different locations.
I read this that they CAN have some Deep Strike and others not, but they must all arrive in the same turn, and those that dont arrive via deep strike walk onto the field from your deployment table edge. The key factor is they they all have to be deployed at the same time, not having half the platoon deployed in turn one and the rest deep strike in turn two.
so you could deep strike some and have the others turn up as reinforcements?
hmm think ill have a good read of the codex next time i have it
I agree with Knape.
They all come in together, as one HQ "unit" but where and how they come in is on a "sub-unit" by "sub-unit" basis. Sub-units being things like fire support squads, sentinel squads that are attached to your HQ, or even your Command Squad.
Some can drop, all can drop or none can drop as long as he has the Drop Troops Doctrine.
