I read the "Pinned" topic about a solid beginning Sisters army, and it was great! Unfortunately, Im not a big fan of the Sisters (yet) and I am more interested in an Inquisitor based force. I have access to a rediculous amount of Imperial Guard models of all kinds, as well as some Space Wolf models. I am more interested in the Guard than the Wolves.
I suppose the most important question is; should I play Imperial Guard that has Witch Hunter allies, or should I have a Witch Hunter army with inducted Imperial Guard? Is one stronger than the other, would I pretty much have to field Sister units in a Which Hunter force?
Other than that, I do like the models a lot and REALLY like the stories and image behind Inquisitors. What would be some good beginning units/models to buy (or hint at as Xmas presents)?
If I use Imperial Guard I can put together quite a large force from models I already have access to, so what is a good point limit to shoot for with my Inquisitor stuff? 500 points? Where is a good place to start if I plan on expanding in the near future?
Anything you can tell me is much appreciated, I hope to make this forum my new online home.
No army is intrinsically more powerful than another. It depends on how you want to play. So you want an =][= style army? I'd go with Guard as your base army, and ally a WH Inquisitor in with some assassins and stormtroopers. Inquisitors simply make better allies than they do HQs.
So start off by painting your Guard, and then buy the WH =][= boxed set and a Kasrkin box. Should start you off nicely.
Is there a decent female inquisitor model, or should I jsut use one of the Sister HQ models nad try my luck at adapting it?
I think it looks nice, I have the exact same model in my army (different colour scheme - cream armour and red robes) and people have given me positive comments.
