    hey everyone,
    I was wanting to add terminators to my Imperial Fists army. The problem is, I dont know which type of terminator i should put in it. At first, I was going towards the sm termies and getting 2 assault cannons. I was going to have 8 of them. But then, I started looking at the GK Termies. I thought about an 8 man squad with a psycannon or incinerator. The sm termies would be better at shooting but the GK termies would be better at c.c. My sm army is very bolter oriented. Which type of terminator would suite this army best? Thanks

    Go for Grey Knights. Reason being they're better in cc.

    Grey Knights might be better in CC but is there any point in haveing just 1 squad that is CC orientated?

    If your aremy is Bolter heavy, you are more than likely a shooty force, in which case standard Terminators are the better bet.

    Really just depends on how you feel your army is inclined. SM Terminators offer better all-round posibilities, good in close combat and good at shooting.

    GK terminators are good, but not as customisable. I would go with the GK terminators as they have decent shooting weapons to use before they really cause some damage in cc. Anyways, the models are better too. ^_^

    Really, it's your chioce, both are good, but quite costly.

    well obviously you should go for GK termies because they look so much cooler
    seriously i would suggest GK's. they are pretty good at shooting, you could give them psycannons and they are great in assault. in my experience a balanced army works better than a purely shooting one, when something hits your lines the Gk's can countercharge it and would be much better than standard termie's at this. I know I wouldn't like using a purely shooty army. you need to prepare for anything.
    but it is personal preference. you might be more of a shooty person.

    thanks guys for the input
    I think im gonna go with the GK termies. I do need a c.c. unit in case i get in a tough spot w/ a c.c. oriented army. Do you guys think i should include any other dh units in my army? I have a 6 man unit of GK marines with an incinerator and a psycannon that are just sitting on my table not doing anything. :hmm:

    For the termies I would have SM assault termies with lightning claws. Reasons:cheaper in points and can be given skills. A cool modeling Idea would be put veteran squad lighting claws on GK termies to make them look cool.

    If you are playing anything less than 1,000 pt battles DO NOT use any GK. They are just to expensive. For 1,000 pt. battles use either GK termies or regular GK. But for anything more than a 1,000 pt battle you could probbaly do both.

    Oh, always give your GK leaders psycannon bolts, they are really good.

    Uhm....GM, you may want to take a look. The points differences between the two once you add a veteran skill to the SM termies is minimal, and the GK termies are by far the better choice if you're going into CC. Especially if you can take the Grand Master. But even without, they would absolutely crush termie squads.

    Remember, while your enemy could pick off your termies as they close in, it's much harder to shoot GK termies.
