I was thinking of how to create a WW1 themed IG army.
ive got some pretty cool ideas! I could use the Brettionian (sp?) Men at arms body with the round helmet, and the Cadian IG arms w/ lasguns. I could use the main Basalisk, but get some large wheels and a metal tow thing behind it (like the British 60 pound guns) I could have support squads with Snipers (cos sniper's were quite popular in trenches) and have lots of Mortars. Conscripts would be a large part, because masses of men would have been conscripted in WW1. Also, for heavy bolters, i could use the Ork Big Shoota, because with a bit of conversion can be made to look like the lewis gun.
What do ya think?
I don't see the idea of using Bretonnian men at arms... They don't look anything like WWI soldiers.. more like medieval men at arms... :hmm:
I think the best way would be to use Cadians with green stuff-modified heads to get the military cap that the British army wore during WWI, or perhaps use Mordian Iron Guard troops...
I myself, have a Death Korps army with the German WWI look... You can take a look if you like:
656th Krieg Death Korps
If you wan't any advice on how to model certain things just ask...

Sounds cool, good luck with your converting
High Elves (BloodBowl)
Warseer Blood Bowl League
I think you would be better off using Armageddon Steel Legion or Death Krops of Krieg models instead of the Brettonians, since their gasmasks always makes me think of the trench soilders of old. Pain them in the grey/blue/greenish colors of the German Wehrmacht and there you have a very good WW1 theme in my opinion.
That's what I did... Check out the link 4 posts up and you will see them...
I think he's going for the Aussie look of the mini that 311 posted a link to...
Nah, British look - if i take the one that 311 posted (thx ) then i can brighten up the colours a bit, and thats close enough to what they would've looked like.
