What's the best thing u can get for 120pts for anti-troop shooting in a 1000pts game? Some possibles...
1.Dred - AC+ML+extra armour
2.Dev squad - 3HBs, 2 bolters
Anything else? I need to get some troop killing power for my 1000pts custom chapter list. Thanx
if u wanted to be an ass go a LRC
on a more serious note i would go devestatros with hvy bolters and nothing but....get 2 if you must but when you have 12 hvy bolter shots each turn at squads of 4+ armor saves the enemy falls like a small take away shop battling the big companies.
P.S. Blood angels rule, the anger lets us ignore wounds ...hehehe
really it depends on what your playing, and what exactly your is taking from that army list. does your opponent have some kick-ass anti-infantry fire-power too, like tau or necros? or do they learn more towards anti-tank like iron warriors or tooled up gaurd? more simply, is it an elite army, good stats small numbers such as yourself, or is superior numbers more on their side?
well, now that i've been over that, ill actually give u some advice. anti-infantry, take the dread, 10 to 1 its gonna live longer. watch out for the necros that i mention earlier, their gauss weapons inflct an automatic glancing hit on a 6 to hit no matter the weapon strength. anti-tank? go with the devs of course. while that heavy fire-power can probably pick off a good chuck of your little force even if u don't have armour, do to the new fourth edition they be popping off shot at those approaching tac squads long before they get a chance at the devs. and the simplier question, elite or superior numbers. if their elite, even if they don't hav any anti-tank perse they've probably got something up their sleeves, tentacles, armour plating, so u don't want that dread. instead take the devs for superior #'s in a war of attrition. if it's superior numbers their playing with take dread, cause it has superior hand to hand and anti-infantry when it comes to tightly packed swarm and a well placed frag missile. hope i helped and didn't just cnfuse, peace from the pd. die spam! :diespam:

i usually take a small dev squad. 4 marines and a sergant. then i just tailer it to suit my needs. Against a tank heavy ig army they are usually kitted out with 4 rocket launchers
Ya I got to say that with all the bolters I invariablly end up with, troops are not a problem. On the rare occasion where I am matched up agaisnt a horde, my lone whirlwind picks up any slack. If you REALLY want to use a dev sqaud go with missile laucnhers. They really are the best balanced shooty weapon.

Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:
1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant
2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers
3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC
anit light/medium/ or heavy?
heavy bolters rip apart anything with 4+ saves or worse.
however, against MEQ you'll have to bust out the bigger guns.
i think the best Dev weapon is the Missle Launcher. 4 Krack Missle will hurt even necrons. and 4 frag missles will put the hurt on a Nid/Ork/IG horde.
and you get it all for a low low price of 170 pts.
Assault Cannons, Heavy Bolters and Missile Launchers, all you should ever really need for ripping infantry of all kinds to shreds. And they can tank bust, too!
