    I had an idea for a unit. But I don't know too much about the stats and everything needed for it, anyway, here goes.

    HEAVY SUPPORT OPTION

    CARNOSAUR CAVALRY (Points based on Rough Riders + 10)
    Carnosaur Rider = 10pts
    Carnosaur Master = 20pts
    Carnosaur = 20pts
    Gunner = 5 pts

    Carnosaur Cavalry have two people per model, a rider, and a gunner.

    Number/Squad: Master and between one and four Carnosaur Rider troopers.

    Carnosaur Cavalry are only available to armies that have the JUNGLE FIGHTERS doctrine. Any of the following are optional, but help make the army more realistic:

    Warrior Weapons - Carnosaur Riders come from feral worlds only.
    Hardened Fighters - Need to be able to subdue these beasts when riding them
    Light Infantry - Adds a bit of punch to an otherwise weak force
    Veterans - Need skill to hunt them down
    Chem Inhaler - Need the extra courage from somewhere!
    Rough Rider - Obviously need to start somewhere!
    Ogryn squads - Use them to 'subdue' the beast?
    Conscripts - One word, bait.

    I have no idea what Carnosaur stats are, so don't ask. :huh:

    Added weaponry: Ranged weapons can include any of the following:
    Autocannon - +20pts
    Heavy Bolter - +15pts
    Missile Launcher - +20pts

    Special Rule "HE'S GOING TO EAT ME!" :blink:
    When a Carnosaur is struck by, and wounded by a weapon for the first time, roll on the leadership of the Carnosaur. If it fails, the rider takes a Carnosaur Strength hit as the creature proceeds to go rampart and attacks the closest model, which in this case is the rider! If the rider is killed, the gunner takes over and the unit cannot fire its weapon, but gains +2S and is subject to "Frenzy" as the rampant Carnosaur is unleashed upon the unsuspecting enemy. If the leadership test is passed, the creature gets over being hit by weapons and fights as normal for the rest of the game.

    There you have it... it's basic I know, but I have no idea what Carnosaur stats are.

    actually i like it providing the stats of the carnisaur are worth 4 pts.. (IG=6+mount=10) if you want to have a heavy beast like attack bike id up the points to say 25+ weapons lame them hvy support and give them units of 1-3. the concept is cool.

    Very nic would be gr8 to see a commisar trying to make it do what he wants.

    Make a rule that if failed 'It's gonna eat me' rule by doulbe 6 then both riders die and carnosaur goes on rampage and move 2d6 in random direction. If encounters a unit frendly or enemy it jumps to close combat.

    Where do these things come from then?

    Regarding where the Carnosaurs come from, on Page 76 of WD284, it talks about the Jouran Dragoons and states: "Jouran V is an agri-world with a small, but hardy population and where a great many of the ruling families of the system own extensive estates and hunt the native Carnosaurs." That's where I got the legality for having them here, but apart from that, I just thought they'd look awesome... mind you, if they look awesome now. Just imagine what they'd look like if they were turned to Chaos!

    great idea. i might have some just to make a fast moving strong assault squad to back up my infantry.

    here are some stats i have thought of for you let me know what you think.

    ws - 5
    bs - 0 (gunner uses its own)
    s - 5
    t - 5
    w - 3
    i - 2
    a - 2
    ld - 6

    so theres what i think should be ok.

    i also instead of CARNOSAUR CAVALRY (Points based on Rough Riders + 10)

    it should be CARNOSAUR CAVALRY (Points based on Rough Riders + 24)

    no its rough rider (6 points) + 24 + riders + weapons

    so for standard person its 6+24+20+weapons

    so 50+ weapons

    Those stats sound like a plan. Found a little bit more information regarding the Carnosaur too:

    Ultimate predator special rule: When engaged in combat against a monstrous creature, the Carnosaur will automatically inflict D3 wounds.

    That part, if I'm not mistaken, is supposedly in the Lizardmen codex. So if anyone has that, PLEASE confirm these stats for us! You will be doing the Imperium a great service indeed!
