I'm tring to figure out a 1500pt Daemonhunters army using all 6 troop choices as Stormtroopers. I don't know how well this will work, but it sounds fun to play with so I'm going to do it. Any help on ideas on how to get it to work are welcome. I am thinking of makeing each squad diffrent from there weapons to what there sarg gots, go daemon hunters. This will be my first daemon hunters army. My other armys have been all for fun also, so I'm use to lossing as long as I had fun. Any any help is welcome. Thank you.

Well, IST are cheap, so you're free to kit them all out nicely. I'd say take all six squads in Transports, mostly or all Chimeras. Give them a mix of weapons, but I'd stick to the "2x of the same weapon in one squad" rule. For Vets, make some of them CC-oriented with power weapons or fists and better armor (and stick them in squads with flamers), and some just give combi-weapons or plasma pistols.
Probably want to take Inquisitor firebase units, since IST don't have access to heavy weapons. Maybe one with 3 MM's and a transport? The others could be mixes of Plasma Cannon/2HB or 3HB, with the almost-required 2 sage/1 mystic retinue. I'd refrain from giving the Inquisitors any serious weaponry themselves, as the servitors are the real power here.
Take one Elite slot of Death Cultists if you aren't maxing out on Elite Inquisitors. That, or one of the two CC assassins (matter of preference, really).
Lords should be geared up for combat, I think. Transports, retinues, and full kit, of course.
Orbital Strike just so you can use one of those Heavy slots ^_^
That's a lot of transports I realized... wow. You might do better with an inducted IG platoon or two, to minimise the number of vehicles you've got to buy. And that'd get you heavy weapons w/o the not-so-effective Inquisitor firebases. And that would in turn free up Elite slots for more Death Cultists/Assassins/Daemonhosts. Hell, you could even take Elite Inquisitors w/o retinue, kitted for combat, and join them to other combat units (either Lord/retinue or IST w/ flamers).

Now THATS an attitude so many more gamers should have

Win/Loss- Who Cares?
"The only thing thats good to lose is your virginity"
Hopefully you got points over for some CC-power otherwise you should have thoose Stormtroopers in an IG army instead (better).
coming from an IG background, i have to say an all IST list will be tricky to be effective. this is simply because while trying to be a flexible unit, IST are actually quite inflexable. they lack the numbers of an guardinfantry (inducted guard), and they lack the versitility and power of SMs.
personally i think they're best suited to specific roles and tasks. and not as the bulk fighting force of an army.
but as you said, fun > winning ( )
personally, i'd use plastic cadians as IST. much cheaper than buying metal. and when compared to any other IG model, they actually look like they're wearing carapace!
it's much easier to mod plastic than it is to mod metal. and if you don't like how the army is turning out, you can switch over to Inducted Guard
Thanks for the help. I've been thinken of doing it with guard, but the owner of the store I go to when I'm in SLC and not Tacoma gave me that speciale witch huter mdole...the one with the plasma pistol. So I want to use it...he's a great painter.
I'm thinken of doing it with the 6 squads and transports. Sarg in power armour and CCWs. I was thinken Chemaras because of them having Heavy Weapons, proble going to get the AutoCannons for Forge World. don't think it will be to hard to put togather and shoud be fun to play with.

Chimera ^_^ Autocannons on Chimeras, by the way, aren't legal for GW tournaments. No Forgeworld stuff is (which is stupid if you ask me). Just letting you know - but you said you play for fun, so I doubt that'll be an issue, as 99.9% of casual gamers wouldn't have a problem with Forgeworld stuff! I agree though, Chimeras would be the best choice for this army, since they're your best source of heavy weapons. If only you could mount a TLLC on one!I was thinken Chemaras because of them having Heavy Weapons, proble going to get the AutoCannons for Forge World.
