well im going to have a battle against an army of orks 1000pts
my rival has got his hands on a nice little bomber :realmad:
what do u think would help me destroy the greenskins?
any help will help
p.s. i don't want a list just tips on unit who make orks cry :lol: :lol: :lol:
god hates us all! he will squish you with his almighty toe!
Bring lots of special weapons to pop transports and deal with bikes. Plasmaguns work best. Orks are near impossible to beat in cc, they have so many weapons that work good, like burnas which count as pw if they don't fire them that turn and choppas which make you take a 4+ save. Not to mention that they have alot of attacks on the charge. I would suggest a bumper force to take the initial hit and keep everyone else like 7" behind and shoot em up on your turn. All my Ork opponents have been speed freaks and if you take out there transports you've won the game.
btw, watch out for the zap gun..very nasty mounted weapon that auto hits.

every ork warlord seeks to do one thing. crush his opponent by bringing his horde in contact with the enemy army.
if he is able to bring the bulk of his army into CC w/ the bulk of your army, you loose.
you need to make him move in multiple directions, therefore weakening him all over. if he has a concentrated ork force, any squads that run will simply mob up and you'll be swept away in a green tide!
to do this use deepstrikers and infiltrators. get on his flanks and rear. and of course while doing this, shoot him to hell and back!!
however, a crafty ork warlord will use his faster units to combat these flankers, so your first target should be his bikes and any trukks once those are gone, he'll have to send sluggas boys (aka weaken his mob) and then remove his weakened base.
your assault squads should hit his smaller squads on the flanks, don't try to take on a ork mob in CC!!! they're drown you!!
HeavyBolters are your friends, and don't underestimate the power of holy flame!
i'd probably invest in a whirlwind.
a dread is useful *IF* you keep it away from hidden Claws. Nobs w/Claws > Dreads.
Whirlwinds are fantastic against orks.
Heavy bolters are also green paint makers.
Assault cannons are amazing against orks.
Hence, I recommend some whirlwinds and some Landspeeders with HB and Assault Cannon.
Aside from that the most important thing against orks, as has already been said, is to keep your distant and split there forces.
Mentor of Space Marine Commanders far and wide.
Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:
1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant
2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers
3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC
Whirlwond, missle launchers, and any other blast/ rapid fire weapons will own the green scum.

Coming from an Ork player, any Ordanance shoots shivers down my spine.
Missle Launchas and Plasma Cannons are good too. Heavy Bolters are also a good choice. Take lots of guns, and get into cover. Dont try to assult.
Dont forget about their Grots. I dont know how many times the little buggers have tied up a dreadnaught for 2 rounds of combat. They can also be used to clear minefields, so dont take that upgrade for the Whirl Wind.
Flamer templates scare my Boyz the most. Two Terminators with Heavy Flamers once reduced my mob of 20 models down to 2 Models... freaky.
