Hey guys, for my future 1850 list, I'm planning on fielding 4 units of 10 Tactical Marines, a unit of 10 Assault Marines, a unit of 5-10 Grey Knights and a small unit of Devastators. Is this enough models? I know Space Marine armies tend to be a bit small because of the high point cost, will this counter the disadvantage?
-My Warrior Priest will challenge your Chaos Lord
-OK, my Chaos lord will slaughter you
-My warrior priest with Van Hortsmen's Speculum will take his 7 Str 8 attacks. You die.
-Take your model off the table, he's dead
Taking Grey Knights will make the lack of numbers disadvantage even worse actually. They are just so expensive but they make up for it in quality. Thats the thing with any army, there is always a downside to everything. So even if you get armies with lots of guys, they will most likely be poor quality compared to SM. You've just got to ask yourself what it is you want. If the answer is lots of troops then SM aren't for you. If its effectiveness you want even in small amounts Marines are the best way to go.

Personally I would drop the Grey Knights and the full strength assault squad for 2 medium strength assault squads.

In 1500pts I try to get atleast 50+ marines. With 1850 I'd most likely want 60+. That sounds pretty decent, dont forget characters as they do what your squads cant
