Hi to all..this is my first post..im new with the Dh...but i've played WHFB for a lot..but im needing advice and some help..
Well ..there is gonna be a megabattle of W40k in my hobby store..and I was thinkin' of participating..they told me that theres no problem in that..but the problem is ...i really need some advice..
well Im playing as an allie to the good team..^^..my mision is to clear a GD in the chaos opponent army...but i dont know how to do it..ive got just 11 GK cause im new in 40k ..so i was thinkin'...shall i teleport in the middle of the battle ? in front of the daemon? or next to allies? they permit us to use small units as allies..so thats why im going to play...but i think that if i stay next to allies ill be shoot with nonsense (N) so well...what should I do?
I am also a new player but as far as my knowledge goes i would say don't deepstrike into the middle of the fight.
The turn you DS you cannot move or assault, you can only shoot, which means with 11 GK you get 22 shots ish i guess, then the next turn his entire army is going to shoot you...
so i would go with no but i am sure megalo will show up and explain it better
Agate's Theorem TM
Awesome + Awesome = Double Awesome
Well, you can't have 11 GK in one squad, max is 10, so leave one model at home. As for where to go, you don't really have much choice. Deepstriking is definitely the best plan, but as to where, that depends on the game. Deepstrike whereever your allies are in trouble, really. Agate was right when he said not to just throw your unit into the middle of the fight - like he said, you can't move or attack on the turn you land! Use them to support a friendly CC unit that's getting swarmed, or to help out a shooty unit that's about to get charged, that sort of thing. Since you can Deepstrike anywhere on the table, you have a huge amount of flexability.ive got just 11 GK cause im new in 40k ..so i was thinkin'...shall i teleport in the middle of the battle ? in front of the daemon? or next to allies?
If you can't find any place that needs your help when your unit's reserve roll comes up, then deepstrike somewhere safe but near the front of the friendly force's charge - don't ever deepstrike alone, you'll lose the unit faster than you'd believe.
WEll good news ^^..i have now got around 20 grey knights..25...a friend bought some boxes and he doesnt want them now so ill buy em..so probably..that helps on something doesnt it? oh..and around 4 termies ^^ so that means i can give some CC support....
Here's what I'd do then: If you only have 20, keep them in two 10-man squads. If you have 25, take two 8-man and one 9-man squads. Don't make any squads smaller than that - if you're Deepstriking, they need the numbers. For the terminators, same tactics as in my first reply. Since you have such a small squad of them, be VERY careful who you pick a fight with - if they become outnumbered and lose a combat, they'll take automatic wounds!
Are you fielding an actual army, with Force Organization Chart and everything? If that's the case, you can't Deepstrike your entire army - you're required to have two Troops choices, and Troop GK cannot Deepstrike. If you're just tossing a few squads in to help out the Good Guys and not playing an actual army, then that doesn't matter. I only ask because with 20+ GK and a couple of Terminators, you've got enough models to field an actual army list, and might get forced to by whoever's running the event.
thats true ..but if i dont deepstrike then ive got to ask for some suppport...maybe i can find a way to end my rhino in time..and theres an eldar guy from my team that offered me to give my GK cover....with lots of guardians in front of em to avoid them from dying
GK have no transports except LRs and LRCs.
Hive Fleet Furi Kuri 32/21/4
Tomb Kings: 8/5/2
Im in ur Halo, killin ur covernantz
didnt they have rhinos or Chimera?
no, they're only for the IST
I do apologise. My previous signature was positively turd. Let's hope this'll be better.
Aw, crap. I failed.
They're right, you cannot put Grey Knights into Rhinos or Chimeras. Your only options are marching them across the table, buying a Land Raider/LRC, or Deepstriking them.
If you're using a full army list, you pretty much have to march your two Troop squads, since they can't deepstrike, and 500pts for two LR/LRC's to carry them is ridiculous. But that isn't necessarily a bad thing - with "assault 2" weapons, power armor, and the Shrouding special rule, they can still cause damage and last long enough to reach combat.
