Okay, I'll make this to the point. I have been debating with myself for a while now to choose an army for 40K. I have narrowed it down to Daemonhunters, or Necrons. Please give me your personal opinions of why you play DH.
On Monday I'll be going to my 'local' GW. I'd like to have chosen by then.
-ability to take SM or IG allies
-high points cost
-70% of newbs start as humans
-Expensive $ wise
-I've gotten the impression that it's a vets army
-We'll Be Back!
-Nightbringer model! (not actual game piece, the model)
-regarded as cheese
-limited, if fluffy, choice of units
-somewhat simple colour scheme
- Phase Out, ellimminating "Last Stand" Scenarios.
Please help me choose! I'll post this in the Necrons forum.

90% of all statistics are made up on the spot
perhaps a larger portion of begginers in 40k choose Space Marines, but to say "human" and to imply the DeamonHunters are easy/common/noob friendly is a very inaccurate.
i've actually found DH to be underpowered. not that it bothers me, cause my "real humans" (IG) are my true love
but if you're looking for a challenge, DH will deliever
as for comparing them to Necrons, they're very different beasts.
but the one thing that would make/made me choose DH is their versitility in conversion/style/comp
i find (although some exceptions) Necron armies to be very very very similar in comp/style which is unfortunate. seems like most just load up on warriors, take a unit of immortals and some destroyers. add one monolith (or two) and top it off w/ a Lord w/ Rorb and Wsythe and BAAM. Necron army.
but it's really depends on which one prefers. Terminators or Knight Templars.
There's a post a few down from this (as of my reply) entitled "What Makes the Daemonhunters So Good". It has 14 replies of people's views of why DH are a great army. That should cover everything.
Have you ever heard that the moon is made of cheese?Bad;
-regarded as cheese
well it's not anymore, the 'crons stole it all.
Ok I'll be serious now.
DH is just so great with how many possibilities you have for combo's, and you forgot that WH can ally with them and hopefully the soon to be Xeno Hunters will too(I see no reason why not.)
The Necrons are good if you are going against a bunch of armour, but personally I find them to be lacking in the hardcore conversion area as Necrons arn't supposed to be unique.
Well in my opinion I would have to take DH, as their basic troops is much better than the necron troop, they have better CC, and they look better, also with DH you have the choice to inducted Gaurd or Ally with SM.
Necrons are okay too they have good troops, C'Tans (in my opinion too expensive for any battle), Well be back, and not to mention their guns are amazing against tanks, but they don't look to good in my opinion, and phase out really sucks.
Go with DH.
FOR FREEDOM, FOR HONOUR, FOR BLOOD
Sorry, but posting 2 exact threads in two different forums is against the rules, I will be closing this one because of the fact that the other one has more posts. You realize that you can just post one topic in the Armies Forum, as opposed to 2 different ones.
Mad Props to Angel_of_Rust for the sig.
