I wonder how many other players have the same thought:
"Will people play me if I use X in my army or will they hate me?"
I'm starting this thread so people can post the stuff they want to use and others can reply and say if they would want to play that army or if they would avoid playing that player.
I'll start: I want to use a full (9man) terminator command squad and 2 dreadnoughts in 1500 points. Would you play me or hate me?
I would definitly play you considering how easy a time I have with terminators. Dreads are nothing special, although I personally like them. If someone hates you because of what you field then you probily shouldn't play them again, no need to waste your time on people who want to dictate your army.
..although im sure if I fielded an armoured company with 9 basilisks I could get someone to hate me.

I'ts part of the codex so you're perfectly entitlied to do so. It's not up to me to hate you, and I wouldn't refuse to play you either.
If I lost to you, I'd just find a way to beat you next time.
No army is invinvcible, and if it's in the Codex as a legitimate choice, I'd have to accept it.
If you take a unit that could be considered cheesy, just make sure you paint them and paint them well. It would be a harder defeat for an opponent to swallow if you beat them with a cheesy unit that you haven't even bothered to paint.
Play with the right attitude too of course.
Try and refrain from pointing at a defeated opponent and shouting "Ner Ner, Na Ner Ner!"
As said above every unit is viable. If you make your army based upon what other people want or like you should quit now. Im not being mean, but you wont have fun with the game and thus you should stop before you even start
there is someone out there who will call *anything* you do cheesy because it beats them. My advice, ignore them but dont step over the line.
I can think of a ton of really cheesy things, that kill certain armies easy yet do nothing against others. The difference is I dont generally use them against that specific army because it doesnt show Im a good player.
Anything that isn't a huge stretch of the rules or against the spirit of the rules generally is fine. Personally I'll play against anything that is legal, and i suggest you do what you want as YOU are spending the money. Dont create a silly theme army you'll play once, create a varied army you'll play 100 times
I agree with everything Kirasu said.
What you're wanting to do pretty much follows the Dark Angels 'Deathwing' army list, except you have to use standards Tac Squads wheras they use ALL Terminators and Dreadnoughts.
I don't think Deathwing is unreasonable, hard, but not unreasonable, so why should I think yours is.
Then again, if I did think yours was unreasonable, so what, that's my problem (at least that should be your attitude towards me)!!!!
As long as its legal I'm willing to play. Anyone who won't play you because they think your army is "cheesy" is a person who is afraid of some good competition and lost sight of the main point of the game: fun.

I hate it to play against a cheesy army, but I will always play against them if you take 9 terminators and a dreadnought is would take power weapons so you don't stand a change. I'm also use to give 1 tac. squad a lascannon
Don´t mess with the dicegod
This is the key point. Bring whatever you like to the battlefield just make sure a good attitude and sportsmanship comes along with it. I will play anyone with a good attitude, even if they are fielding nothing but wraithlords.Originally posted by flippantremark@Jan 20 2005, 21:26

Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:
1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant
2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers
3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC
Anything what I want from people which I'm playing with is good manner, nothing more. I don't care what You have in Your army, but everything what You have must be legal. That's all.
If You hear from someone "Powergamer! Cheesy player!"- smile and just ignore him, and find someone else to play.
