All right a difficult and confusing topic arised during a game tonight
Do junior officers have a circle of influence?
If they do what is it?
In the codex it saysWhen you look at page 38/39 wierd dual page codex entry its makes mention of the Officer many times.A Junior Officer and his attendant bought from the Command Squad entry on page 38
Does the Junior Officer qualify for the comments made in the codex?
Does he get the Leadership special rule?
Is it worth giving the Juniors Iron discipline if the cant pass it to other squads nearby?
Just though I would ask because I think that they do have a circle of influence and built my guard accordingly.
All input back is muchly apreciated.
Also is there any mention of this on a GW page to verify my thoughts? I was playing a GW staffer when it came up and it lost me the game horribly.
All Officers have the Leadership ability.
If only your Command HQ Officer had the leadership ability, Iron Discipline would be nearly useless as only one model in an entire Guard army could make use of it.
I am the Aquila-Guerilla!
JO/SO/HSO are all "Officers". therefore they all have the Leadership ability.
yes, Iron Disp is worth giving to your platoon JOs if you plan on using them for their Ld (instead of suicide squading them).
in fact one of my favorite setups for my platoon command squads is simply a mortar and Iron Disp = 55pts and can keep my guys fighting rather nicely (from behind cover no less).
