I collect Eldar and i need help defeating my brother who collects Ultramarines and Space Wolves/ 13th Company nad i needed help defeating them with my Aloitoc army so if i needed help on defeting Space who else better to go to then the Space Marines themselves.
My brothers Ultramarines army has a very shooty theme with lots of Wirlwinds, Dredanauts etc and he has a few troop choices in his Land raider and the other thing :glare:
He has a Hq of some sort and tiggaris and i need help defeating his army
Check it out.
Its new but it will grow if people join.
If he has a shooty army i'd take some warp spiders to get up to the enemy lines and cause some dissaray.
How many whirlwinds and dreadnaughts does your brother have exactly?
Using snipers against a army with lots of vehicles is a bit tough so take some frie warriors as well.
Your snipers will be useful against the marines and the HQ though.
You can take your own heavy weapons as well so do that, mabe a war walker or a prism tank.
Write up an army list of what you think would be good and we can help, unless your lucky no on e will write you one
Dreadnaughts are best taken out at long range because of their amazing CC power. Try to get some fire warriors to the whirlwinds, or use some heavy support your self with back up from the snipers.
In the end there is only war.
Giving advice to Eldar players makes me feel unclean
Right, well, if his troops are all in transports, then your disruption roles aren't going to do much. So focus on Marine killing weapons.
This means you need to fight fire with fire, and use brightlances on his LR, and Starcannons on his troops once they're out of their transports. Tigrus is a nasty piece of work with his special psyker rules. Use grav tanks to move around and keep your troops inside alive, by always moving, and thus not letting him get a penetrating hit. Whirlwinds are a pain, as they will splatter your foot troops. So make these a target priority. If he's smart, he'll have hidden them. So you'll need to send a tankbuster squad to hunt them down. Either Scorpians/Grenades or firedragons in a waveserpent, or warpspiders and go for the rear armour.
Apart from that, just keep to cover, and only expose yourself to the squad that you want to shoot at. Pathfinders can be nice with their ability to get a lot of AP1 hits,
Ok I actually used to play Alitoch so here is a bit of my strategy.
It is without a doubt a shooting army so load up on heavy weapons and heavy choices.
I played with a 6 man dark reaper squad and an exarch with the quick shot missle launcher. This allowed for two missles to hit a transport then the dark reapers squad to take out the guys inside. Easy to do on rhinos hard to do on land raiders. I would go after land raiders with my wraith guard since they can put it into the warp on a 6. Once your bro gets hit by this once he will avoid it forever.
I had a falcon and a fireprism. I used the upgrade that lets you move shoot move. That way I could dart out blast something then dart behind cover. I put banshees in the flacon mostly for fear inspiring purposes. Noone is going to let you simply assult thier terminator squad without a fight. I also like scorpions much more these days.
A big "combo" you can use is the bright lance vyper and ranger squads. Shoot the vehicle then shoot the guys with the sniper rifles. Vypers sound like the way to go against this army since you need to pop transports and dreads early in the game. A tip is if you take a fire prism then you will get the guns of the falcon with it. The laser cannon can easily be shortened in the middle to make it a bright lance. shiruken cannons on a vyper are worthless.
Then add star cannons to your defender squads.
Man all this talk of eldar makes me want to get my old guys out of the attic.
If you build a man a fire he will be warm for a night. If you set a man on fire he will be warm the rest of his life.
using wraithlords as a fire power base that walks forward is IMO a pretty terrifying because you can only hit them with heavy weapons. if you can destroy his dreads and LR you can go after the tactical squads. it's worthless going after the whirls because he will probebly put them behind cover and defend them well.
things to do:
1. take starcannons and bright lancers
2. take out the dread and LR
3. take out his librarium with dark reapers (if he has a 3+ armour save)
4. don't go after his whirlwinds
not to do thing:
1. never ever go in CC with his librarium
2. don't come out of cover
3. put your wraithlords in firelanes because is just to inressisteble to take that thing down.
Don´t mess with the dicegod
well you should just use starcannons!!!!
lots of starcannons
on vipers and falcons
bright lances on a wraith lord
and twin bright lances on a wave surpent or twin starcannons
also use banshees with a farsseer in the waves surpent to fortune them dotn bother with warpspiders or swooping hawks
you might remember the white dwarf with us in.
now you might be slitly tempted to look at the website!!
