Man its totaly cool, +1 I and L for free. That might not sound like much but that totaly kicks ass. Thats like the only effective doctrine they made. All the others suck. Grenadier and drop troop are cool though
don't threads usually need to ask a question and not be a general comment about something?
Mad Props to Angel_of_Rust for the sig.
who cares i like the doctrine too
fot hose big units of conscripts charging into CC in a cityfight
Yeah! Lets pack all those IG troops with their 5+ armor saves as close together as we can. Then, when the enemy starts shooting template weapons, you don't have to decide which troops to remove from the squad, just take the whole squad off the table. Yeah! Great Idea!
I don't care for this doctrine, or most of them for that matter. Sharpshooter Is really the only one that I like for the points value.
If you are playing IG and you are in HtH, then you are just waiting to die most of the time. A better doctrine is the one that lets you ignore all modifiers to your leadership. At least that way you can tie them up for a while. I don't have the book here at school, but I think it's Iron Discipline or something like that.
If I had an extra doctrine to use, then I might choose it, but mine are all used up.
good answer hourglass wot ig player bunches up his models so tht hes forever in close combat where ig players are weak save ogryns and hqs! its madness
can you people not read or what
i said CITYFIGHT template weapons arent at all that effective in a cityfight
maybe you havent played a cityfight and dont knpow this but it really works because all you models in within 6 inch get their full attacks
which means 100 I4 attacks for 200 points worth of models
that is bound to kill something
Iron discipline only lets you ignore the -1 ld for being under half strength and lets you regroup even when under half strength when outnumbered in or out of CC in any squad led by an officer or senior officer. Die Hards on the other hand let you ignore all neg Ld mods in CC for being outnumbered. The rule Hourglass describes sounds more like the old Death korps of kriegs special rule, I don't see anything quite as good in the new codex.
*Fart* "Keep talking sir, we'll find you!"
I agree with hourglass sharpshooter is a good doctrine
