has anyone come up against a night bringer and if so howd u do against it, if you beat it give me some tips on how to beat it.
Well, I'm a Necron player, and you kill Nightbringer like you kill any giant scary creature that's a killer in close combat... you kill it from a distance. Just shoot the crap out of him with lascannons. He's only got a 4+ armor save, regular Necron warriors get better than that.
ok but is his save invulnerable and also the table we played on had a hell of a lot of terrain so i couldnt pull a line of site to him
I would go for units that have a permanent woundin like snipers
imperium then i would get an allied grey knights with incinnerators and phycannons
Well that was fun
Sniper rifles are great, dont try assault terminators whatever you do, with T8 and a high invulnerable save it is a challengs, force weopons dont hill it, space marines would need an average 8 powerfist attacks to take a wound (4s 4s 4s). Railguns are good, i play tau and find it alright with Pulse rifles ,2 squads can kill it in 3 turns(presuming 1 turn rapid fire) though obviously this isnt for everyone. Remember he is 360pts of designed death, try to tie it up with something cheap, like grots.

I generally would leave it alone, for a couple of reasons, if I didn't have snipers. If you have Ratlings etc. shoot at it, they are great for high toughness creatures. If you play this guy a lot, i would get some Ratlings.
The nightbringer is a fire magnet to draw you fire away from other targets. It is a slow Beast that can't move fast, and has short range. It costs a heck of a lot of points, so he has less warriors to worry about.
With Nerons worry about Phase out first.
1st target: Destroyers, These can do the most damage to you.
2nd: Wraiths, Scarab Swarms.
After that work on one squad at a time of Warriors so that if you kill the whole squad they can't "get back up".

I think he asked this in the Imperial Guard forum because he plays imperial guard, and therefore wants to know how to beat it with Imperial guard. However, i could be wrong.
Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Yes, i completely agree with Diggums. Ignore the git. He's hella tough to kill, with or without lascannons, so just go for the warriors and make him phase out before he gets anywhere. However, if your opponent somehow stops this from happening, then all i can say is get 10 Ratlings. They should take 2-3 wounds off a turn, so hopefully shouldnt be too hard to kill.
10 ratlings do the trick.
his "make you fall back" ability is annoying ... and if he sits on an objective, you'll never take it w/out killing him.
lascannons/missle are better spent killing warriors (working on phase out).
so if you want to kill him, mass sniper fire is your best bet.
basically if you don't have snipers, don't even bother. just work on phase out.
I suppose that for xxxpts (we arent allowed to post points are we) he would have to kill 6 squads of basic Guard to make his points back, is he going to do that in a 6 turn game when i dont think he moves too fast?? For guard i would have to agree, ignore him hope he dies of a heart attack or remembers a prior engagement ,or that some kid wonders over and eats him.

As said in a Gaurd army there is no real reason to fire at the mofo.
You don't need to pass a Ld test to shoot past him being a big target, so won't effect you.
If you must kill him *sigh* 10 ratlings will have him down on turn 3 or so. But with wraiths Ratlings may be in combat by turn 3 so :hmm:
Good luck, Necrons are a tough nut to crack, but nothing a good ordnance blast can't fix!
