So, i'm indecisive. And weak when it comes to peer pressure. In short, I've been dancing between armies all my (WH40K) life. I like IG, even if they are Imperium, but I also like Eldar, the versatile aliens that they are.
So, what do you do when you're torn between the two?
Besides choose em both. I'm supposed to start escalation soon, and I want to know if IG can work in small doses (500, 750 points) since that's what I'm starting out with. Also, if you have any experience with Eldar vs. IG, please post here so I can see what's going on when T 3 men fight T 3 aliens...
Much obligied. Cheers.
01110100 in binary is the letter T. What relevance does this have you ask?
None. But binary is hilarious, don't you agree?
I mean seriously, can you imagine Shakespeare in binary? Braille binary? Do you see the hilarity in numerical languages?
small scale IG?
we do better as the point increase... but you can be successful w/ IG at small point games (below 1000), but it takes skill and will be very hard for a novice.
my suggestion (if you run w/ IG at small points) is to maximize quanity and heavy weapons.
my IG Patrol list (400pts) is just two platoons of 25 men each. 2 Mortars (very good in patrol), 2 HeavyBolters, and 2 MissleLaunchers. and each officer has Iron Disp.
however, you can go the oppostite and try to Armor them to death. you could squeeze in Two Armored Fists and a Sentinel in 400 pts.
of course, first you gotta choose between IG and Eldar.
personally i'd hold off on Eldar until their new Codex comes out... however that may be a while since they gotta come out w/ Nids (and Ork?) before Eldar get a much needed revision.
Hmm ok been playing Eldar for nigh on 20 years and I dont think it is a good army for a new player, also you need to consider what falvour of Eldar.
It also depends what sort of army your want to play (not in terms of camp hairdressers Vs something out of the longest day, but in terms of shooty? Assulty? hoards? tanks?) you can get twenty people off this boad and they will all give you their won subjective advice, but it is entirely subjective without a little more info from you
Everything you have been told is a lie!

Go the guard. I love tanks, and am planning on buying a stormblade from forgeworld. It might be price ($340 Australian dollars!, but the models way awesome and can be deadly effective! With the support of plenty of platoons of guardsmen, stands a good chance.
it told me daemonhunters, which means i'll put a squad or two in my army.
-fancy a butchers?
It told me pansy boy SMurfs. Well I do kinda like to new models....
