Can an Inquisitor lord with retinue join up with a stormtroopersquad and ride in the same rhino? Or do I always have to take the inquisitor as an elite if I want him to join an other squad...

i believe you have to use the inquisitor as an elite if you want him to join other troops...otherwise, he must have a retinue. You might want to check the codex just in case

That's right, an Inquisitor Lord is an IC but only if his (mandatory) retinue is wiped out. Then he can join any other squad he feels the need to. Inquisitors are ICs and do not have mandatory retinues so they'd work for that. An IL with a retinue can't join another squad, the only army that lets multiple-model units join others is the Tau, w/ their drones.
