This is a very noobish question..but in alot of these threads here I have seen people talk about hidden powerfists...what exactually does it mean?
It means the model using the powerfist cannot be chosen as a specific target. Usually its a rank and file troop that is upgraded to use a powerfist. Normally an attack can only target the unit and not the individual, so there is no way for a person to attack and kill off specifically the model with the power fist.
Yeah, when the sergeant of a squad has the powerfist the enemy cannot specifically target him. The powerfist is there, but the enemy can't find it, IE: hidden.
Indeed, when a non-independant character has a powerfist, they cannot be targetted until the squad around them is dead. That means if you get into CC with a wraithlord for example, you can keep swinging away with your powerfist until the end, rather than for example a captain with a Powerfist who would get singled out and squashed, and the squad would be unable to hurt it.
Ah, thanks all...was bugging me for some time!
this is also why fists on IC's don't work.
