    Forge World rules

Are they tourney legal? There are some Forge World bits & pieces I might get, but won't bother if the rules for them aren't entirely kosher.

You should discuss it with the organizers of the tournaments, untis such as flyers or war-engines are simple out of the question, the more regular is quite often allowed but just to be on the safe side ask it first.
Using FW models with GW rules is always allowed.

Mostly they are not allowed, but occasionaly they are. GW games days (damocles, Badab) allow them but make a disctinction (IA rules allowed but no super heavys). As the previous poster said, contact the tourney organisers if it is not stated in the rules pack
