    I'm considering undergoing the rtiuals

I am wrapping up a IG army. I 've decided that I'm interested in a small (1500pt) Space Marine army. I was up-to-date up untill the new Codex came out. I've heard things to the fact that Space Marines have something akin to doctorines now, true? Are the Space Wolves still around in all their glory? And have the models changed that much?

    143rd Airborne Badgers (99.9% done)
    159th Corsair Rifles (35% done))
69th Armored Wall Busters (95% done)

Total 197 men, 12 tanks, 4 Heavy Artillery Pieces

Space Marines indeed have their own doctrine equivalents, the 'Chapter Traits', allowing you to tailor your army to how you desire it. Of course codex chapters like Space Wolves don't use them, although since their codex is obsolete, they used their 4th ed FAQ. Although I dont play SWs, most of them have responded...unfavourably to their FAQ.

Well to be honest all the 'codex chapters' have been riled by the ill-conceived, hastily thrown together FAQs, although the Blood Angels got neutered the worst. I for one use the new Vanilla rules for my DA, as I dislike the FAQ. In such a sense I play 'pseudo Dark Angels'. In such a sense you could always 'pseudo Space Wolves', using traits to make them Wolf-like.

Oh and generally the models are not really that much different, only tiny little embellishments, they are pretty much the same. The only things that the difference is noticable on is the terminators.

    Hope this helps.

F.A.Q. irked the hell out of me. Especially since Pete Haines, in all his wisdom, decided to then post a post-F.A.Q. clarification that pretty much contradicted everything the F.A.Q. said. Idiot.

SW need a lot of touch-ups, but they're still very effective. Bikes and jump packers still cost an arm and a leg, and Grey Hunters still pay for True Grit even when they aren't using bolters. Which blows with the new Rapid Fire rules. And our HQs didn't get any love from the new abilities. I'd really like someone to explain to me how my Wolf Lord's presence is any less inspiring than a Space Marine captain...

Truthfully, Codex armies with traits can almost play SW as well as we can. But we still have a lot of great fluff, cool minis and specialized units. I just hope a new F.A.Q. is on the way to tweak our issues.

    1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant

    2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers

    3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC

From what it sounds like, its really the SMurfs who get all the love, other marines who are next, then everybody else when a lot of people complain.
