Welcome to Librarium Online!
Well hello all once again!
Tommorow I am having a team game 1000 pts. It will be me (SM) and a IG player vs. Necrons, and CSM
The CSM has a really tooled up CC command squad. I am not sure what he all has but he is death on wings...I cant engage with them in CC with ANYTHING cause they hit hard and they hit fast...Should I leave them up for the IG firing squads?
The necrons are the standard footslogging line with destroyer back up...They I have no trouble with its just with the CSM....I dont have a list made yet and thats the main reason I am posting this. What should I take to counter the heavy hitting CSM?
something very shooty and killy. I don't really know how effective this would be but how about a Devastator squad with 4 Plasma cannons, with Blast Templates you can target lots of his guys and AP2 can take em out, the only real probs I see, note that I'm a Tau player, is over heating and the range. Hope I helped!
I'd say to kill the CC-unit with everything you have. They must not reach CC, beacuse even to models can give you trouble.
Afer that take care of the necrons and make them disappear. Works quite good.
Let IG sort out the Necrons with a barrage, str 8+ on all of IG ordnance weapons means alot of dead necrons. Phasing shouldn't take too long like that.
The rest of the firepower should be blasted into that uber HQ. In a 1000 point game if he has an uber HQ that means his army will probably depend on it doing well. Kill it and the backbone of his plan will disappear.
I suggest you stock up on heavy weapons, missile launchers is what I would go for. Blast away at his DP, with high str it will easily wound. Then it can be used to shoot marines and necrons into smushy messes.
No need to worry if they have a monolith, in this game scale they can be ignored IMO.
I suggest total firepower. Blast the CC squad into oblivion then pick off the rest of the army.

When I say jump you don't ask me 'How high?' maggot! You jump!
Have the IG guy pin the squad down with ordinance fire or a cheap squad, then take them out with plasma or lascannons.
