    scout bikes whats the point

    I really dont see anypoint in taking scout bike squads when you can get space marine bikes, I would much rather have a 3+ armour save then a 4+ any day, but then aain does anyone know any good use for them?

    The Predator Lingers forth. Suddenly the sound of several wipping sounds can be heard far off into the distance, a second later the once mighty Predator ignited with flames. "Sir what was that" The srgt replied "Its those damn Broadsides"

    Hear the wip, fear the Broadside.

    Ummm, i thought scout bikes couldn't use turbo boost, "to be quiet and stealthy". Am I right?

    They can't turbo boost during their scout move but after that they are free to boost whenever they want.

    Shortstop is correct. All bikes may choose to turbo-boost in the movemet phase.

    Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:

    1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant

    2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers

    3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC

    Think of their uses in an all bike army (Be Swift As The Wind)!!!

    Take Bikes as Troops, Attack Bikes as Fast Attack and Scout Bikes as Elite.

    There you have 3 Elite units that may always be deployed at the start of the game and that get a free 12" move before play starts. They may then be given the 'Furious Assault' skill as Veterans do.

    Now I don't know about you, but 3 squads of Marine Bikes with twin-linked Bolters and 'Furious Assault' getting within charge range before the game begins would trouble me a touch!!

    It would definitly force you to waste heavy weapon on them, and even then you would get a 4+I from the turbo boost. I think scout bikers are more for an annoyance then anything else since if your tank hunting you would probily want the 2 meltaguns or 3+ save for cc. Either way I say there useful as long as you can afford to give up the FA spot.

    [QUOTE=samurai_socks]

    Why scout bikes are the bees knees.

    1. Ok, scout bikes are the only squad in a space marine army that can conceivably gain a first turn assault. How this works;

    12 in setup, 12 in scout move, 12in (or 24 turbo boost) move, 6 in assault. Thats 42in in one turn. I would say that fact alone would make them pretty useful.

    [QUOTE]

    you know that if you turbo boost you cant shoot or assault right? you seem to imply you can turbo then assault the enemy.

    It's still a 30in move.
