ok. I was wandering if you can tell me what, in your openion, is a good ratio between platoons and points and tanks and points (two ratios). I plan to have two platoons of 2 squads and one command squad, a chimra and a lerman rush battle tank at a 1000 point game. What do you think?
For all the good the chimera will do you, you might very well be better off with a bassie. However, I don't know how the rest of your army looks, so it's hard to say. Those ratios look fine to me, though.
Thanks for the advice. I plan to buy a bassilisk for my 1500 points army. And as for the rest og my army, it's going to include what I was saing, and a command squad. these platoons are more expensive then they look...
Er, what exactly is it that is making these platoons so expensive?Originally Posted by Comandos

but it rocks absolutely, too!
A good ratio is 75% troops and 25% tanks ( not including chimeras)
The Predator Lingers forth. Suddenly the sound of several wipping sounds can be heard far off into the distance, a second later the once mighty Predator ignited with flames. "Sir what was that" The srgt replied "Its those damn Broadsides"
Hear the wip, fear the Broadside.
Persoally i would field either alot of armour OR alot of infantry.
In an army of only guardsmen the worst thing a lascannon could do is to kill a guardsman. In an army packed with veichles an enemy heavy bolter wouldn't be very usefull either.
Your first ratio for 1000 points is about right except for the chimera, it isnt really gonna draw fire from the tank, it will draw heavy weapons once your tank is down, I would ditch it and take more troops (or a basilisk as the original reply said
