ive recently finished my eldar and am thinking about starting an imperial gaurd army
i have the codex and i like the idea of doing a tanith first and only army as i like the background and the books
so what i want to know is can they be competitive and do you have any ideas of what i should get and how i should go around starting it
They're just like regular guard, stats wise, but there a lot more expensive to field. Three guys comes per blister pack at $12.00 a pop, and since you'll be need a lot of them, it would really add up. Of course, you could convert your own, but this absorbs time like the other method absorbs money.
We'll show these filthy aliens what Imperial Guard are made of!
It's been suggested by GW that you use Catachans if you want to build an entire army, the metal models are really too few for an entire army even if you did have the money for them. Catachans don't look a lot like Tanith though... My suggestion is that you get a regular Cadian or Catachan army and use Tanith models as a squad or two of veterans and maybe HQ sniper squads.
Perhaps mixing cadian and catachan bitz together could have a reasonably good effect. It would be more expensive, but not as much as some of the alternatives...
Power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely...
but it rocks absolutely, too!
