Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hello everyone. I am thinking about starting the WH and wondered if they can be combined to SM armies liek the DH can be. I need to knwo thsi to decide if I need to buy it's codex. Please tell me because I'm itching to start a WH army
Yes, WitchHunters can take Space Marine allies. They cant though if you use any Adepta Sororitas units (Battle Sisters).
"New to Witches"? *puts her flamer on xtra-toasty*
Well ... to your question. There are two possibilities now:
a) If you want to use allied Space Marines with your Witch Hunters you may NOT field any unit of the Adepta Sororitas (thus, only inquisitorial forces including inducted IG)
b) If you want to use the Witch Hunters as allies to a Space Marine force you are heavily limited on troop selection on the side of the WH, though you would be able to use Sisters of Battle here. GW recommends this way to implement an Inquisitor or a few Adepta Sororitas if you already have an existing army of either Marines, Guardsmen, or the DHunters.
So, it is possible to combine them to Space Marines if you can live with these restrictions.

It tells you about WH allies in the WH Codex. And yes you should get one.Originally Posted by Malekith12

Just some pointers before moving on to the topic:
Take the time to make sure your post is free of major errors, like obvious mispelled words, it makes you look alot less like a newb Example:.knwo thsi
Just to give ya the yeads up as some people can't stand that sort of thing (but not me!)
Anyways, Yes you can have SM allies in a WH(Witch Hunters) list but if you do you can't take any SoB(sisters of Battle) which really sucks, but If you take a WH as allies your extremly limited, And I find that the IG can do the same jobs, and the SoBs are like a slightly weaker(S and T wise) Marine. Either way you'll need the codex and even if you don't have SoB you can still use cool Inquititors and Pentient Egines, the WH army list is VERY Flexible so I'm sure you'll find a army list to suit your playstyle!
The only way to field units of the Sisters of Battle with Space Marines is to have a Space Marine force and take Sisters as Allies. (The mandatory HQ and Troops must be Space Marines). Even then you are limited on what units you may use:Originally Posted by Malekith12

No Heavy Support may be taken from the WH list.
(for full details see p.25 of the WH Codex)
So you can get a Seraphim Squad to back up your Space Marines, but no Exorcists, Retributors or Penitent Engines.
If, however, you are using a With Hunters force as the main army (taking the compulsory Choices from the WH list), then no Space Marines may be in the army with Adepta Sororitas units (Sisters of Battle). (p.26 WH Codex for full details).
In either case you may use Sisters Repentia, because they are not listed as Adepta Sororitas. (presumably having lost that distinction when assigned to the Repentia Squad as punishment).

All the guys have said whats to be said, I just have two points.
1) Remeber you cn't have IG and SM in the same army, no matter who is the parent list
2)Try giving a WH pure force ago. Go on... do it!
Hope that Helps
