I just got a look at the new SM codex (took me a while, i know) and I found that the Dreadnought isn't able to use a twin-linked autocannon any more. It also doesn't seem that any other unit can use an auto-cannon, but it's still listed in the weapons chart at the end of the unit listings.
Am i missing something? I'd love it if Dreadnoughts could still use them...
Leman Russ exterminator has twink linked autocannon. Which would be why it's there.
Space Wolves- 4,000 pts
Dwarves in progress
The predator destructor still has a turret mounted autocannon.
"Official! The graves of warriors who have given thier lives for the Emperor now outnumber the stars themselves."
Destructor, right. Never was a vehicle-oriented player myself.
Why take an Autocannon when you can get an Assault Cannon? Much more handy, IMHOOriginally Posted by Lokathor
Well, the autocannon was (and still is in my opinion) one of the more well-rounded weapons you can get. However, the assault cannon is better in one respect, rending. This little feature can help you mow down many a pesky enemy is very short order. I like it and whenever I see it in use on the field, I know it will give me no end of trouble if I don't take it out soon.
Long ago, when the stars were young, the Autocannon was the clear choice for a shooting dreadnought to have. Double the range, +1 Str, and Twin-Linked for only one less shot and 5 more points.Originally Posted by zenBoy
