hi can i use the cadian shock troopers as grenidiers?
couse I read some doctrians thread and he said they where just relly well trained troops in that case cant i just use cadians?
Theres nothing to stop you proxying them, but I wouldn't do that for ever. Eventually you should get some models that have Carapace Armour, either Stormtroopers or Kasrkins.
But they are costly considering that they don't make plastic Stormtroopers. So what I do is I use Green Stuff to model extra armor plating, kneepads, etc. around regular plastic Cadians, give them different helmets, and paint them distinctively.
I love the Kaskrin models, it would be a shame not to get some for the future, but proxy at will as long people will let you.

it's generally considered fine, if you don't also use the models for normal troopers. that is to say, use plastic cadians as stormtroopers AND infantry platoons in the same force.
alot of Deamon Hunter places use plastic cadians as inq stormtroopers (alot cheaper).
however, if you plan on using plastic cadians for stormies AND infantry, i suggest painting the armor on the stormies a metalic color... something to make them stand out and make their armor look better.
ok thanks but could i use the shock troops as grenidiers in a tournamet?
I belive you can, though it is recommended that if you're using the same model with two different roles there should be some way to tell them appart as its has been said, a different paintscheme or some conversion should suffice.
