Besides the high point cost of the Blood Angels what would be other weaknesses of them that a Chaos player could exploit?
the black rage and the possibility that devastators wont shoot and you can cont on the fact that you will be in cc soon.
So take a masssively overpowered hq and a awsome retuine then engague his deathcompany with some berserkers you play for the blood god right.
then get your hq and retuine into the heart of his normal warriors and obliterate them. beware they wont outshout you and they will rely on their DC so perhaps you could lure them away from the battle with another unit as an alternative tactic.
IF he has 2 champlains and a lot of death company pull out both of you monsterous creature deamon princes and let them come. dont shoot death company its not worth it only if it will slow them ie. their transport.

Just take a defiler or two and insta kill his death company with the battle cannon. Without saves and the feel no pain they die fairly quickly, and if there are a lot of them the scatter doesn't affect you as much. Then meet them in close combat with your two monterous HQs so that their armor is not worthwhile and they fall like the rest of the marine chapters.
well i leave my stuff over at my friends house he is blood angels but he also is imp guard and has quite a bit of demon hunters and uses grey knights when our armys go up against each other. I do play for the blood god so i do have berserkers. when my friend is bored he plays blood angels vs chaos and other armys like orks (my lil brother ... who is almost bigger than i am but thats an other story) and some other armys but for the past 2 days when he plays my guys he says they get messed up and i cant figure out why. i think he is using my army wrong but i dont know and he and he brought out my flesh hounds and blood letters and for some reason my havoc squad was in close combat with a dreadnaught which they killed (score!). I have just got the end of both battles when i go home from school with him but it seems that i am getting screwed. another thing this happened today if i have a squad and there in between a death company ahead, grey knight termys behind, a building to the right and a small wall to the left and fail there leadership test after getting owned can they take a difficult terrain test to go over the wall or are they screwed anyway i have just about every kind of weapon in my arsenal that chaos will allow (except a defiler but that i will be getting next monday) i dont have any other god troops besides khorne so no tezeetch, nurgle, slanesh so i would appreciate the help and thanks for the posts already guys.
P.S. i forgot to mention my BA friend has never beaten me. now i am usually pretty huble in my victories but if he ever beat me i would never hear the end of it. i know that doesnt have any relevance to the post put im just puttin it out there.

You are all mentioning the DC.There are other units in a Blood Angel army and if you focus al firepower on them then you will be in trouble.Besides it wouldnt IMO be that smart to have a DC against Khorne.I would go for maybe a Libby or a Master who would be able to slay your demons with his force weapon. My advice would be to have 1 or 2 Defilers and maybe a Dread and the rest of your army all cc units.Run up behind cover and watch out if he has an HG,if he does focus all your firepower on it becuase if he does have one then its probobly going to be pretty expensive,so if you take that out you wont have much else to worry about in cc apart from if he has Furiousos.
The biggest advantage a Blood Angels army has is free Furious Assault. The second major advantage is death company with lots of power weapons and fists.
The best way to shut down a blood angels army, therefore, is to deny him the charge and destroy the death company. Do whatever it takes to get the charge. For the death company, they get +1 str +1 in +1 attacks and get to reroll all misses if they charge. If they don't get the charge, then they are just regular terminator honour marines.
I have played blood angels since 3rd edition first came out and I've seen player after player try to ignore the death company, because they were "just too hard to kill". This is usually a bad mistake. I've play tested all my other armies against my own blood angels list, and every time I bum rush the death company and destroy it, I win.
Yeah the DC are a very good unit.Because if you fire at them flat out then you ignore the rest of the army and if you do which you should, ignore the DC you will feel the hurt.Take them out with low ap weps and power weapons.
They're pretty much marines with a fancy honour guard and Death Company, first couple of turns fire at these squads, if it insta-kills fire it at DC, if it doesnt, the Honour Guard, flatten or at least damage them so any survivors are meat for your lord and his mates then its back to regular marine target priority, with the bonus that 1 time in 6 his support elements wont fire cos there running at you screaming.......
They arent JUST a marine force with Honour Guard and Death Company. All Blood angels gain the Furious charge ability for free, which makes there basic troops pretty good at close combat. They also have the Baal class predator which is a very good anti-infantry tank. They also have Furioso dreadnoughts which IF they do make it into combat, few will stand before it.They have Vet assault squads which arent that useful for there points cost do SOMETIMES come in handy. They have Blood Angel scout squads which are one of the best troop choices out there for there points cost and what they can do.Originally Posted by Dunklezahn
See there is more to them then just Honour Guard and the Death company.
I just find that I have never seen a Baal Predator fielded by anyone, or a furioso, furious charge only counts when you get the charge, so its mostly an assault squad thing which now any marine player can do. The only things that stand out for me are the DC and Honour Guard, once their neutralised its a close combat specialist marine army, im not rating them lower than any other but tactically thats how you need to look at them.
This coupled with the fact that so many BA players sacrifice tactical elements of their army to enhance the DC whihc means the ones i've played have all been one shot weapons, either the DC gets through and wreaks havoc or it dies and they lack the balance to stand up to an organised defence.
I'm not saying all players are like that, buts it's my experience that vehicles are dropped more more DC potential and it leaves the army unbalanced and overly reliant on them.
