Can anyone tell me if a rough rider gets an additional attack for charging when using a hunting lance. because i know they don,t get one for the other close combat weapon so i need to know weather it's the same for charging.
yes, rough riders get +1A on the turn they charge
Then just to clear thing up, if 10 Rough Riders Assault do they get:
10 Hunting Lance Attacks and 10 Regular attacks or 20 Hunting lance attacks?
all their attacks is counted as lance attacks, (you don't get 2 attacks from a boltpistol and 2 from a powerweapon for example) But don't they count as having a CCW (huntinglance) and a pistol, or is the huntinglance a twohanded weapon?Originally Posted by Kaiser
if they do that means 30 attacks on the charge, right?
They replace both weapons with the lance so they get 20 attacks on the charge.
20 attacks is more than enough-
charge into some khorne bezerkers
that means you can kill 140 poijnts worth of heretics before they even strike back.
rough riders are very tactical, if you hit the right target with those lances you can do massive damage, but it takes skill
For extra kicks, use whatever can be used to maximize the number of hits, be it charging Commissar Gaunt, a Terminator Inquisitor with a Holy Relic, etc. If 20 attacks on a charge is nice, imagine 40!
The best part about it is, they have the fleet rule and charge 12". So for a squad of mine which I plan on building...
Fleet for 1-6"
So that's anywhere from 19-24" (2 feet) of good charging.
Remember the veteran sarge, one more lance attack
Rough riders aren't just for CC though. They can make excellent Mongols (mounted archers) give them lasguns and the Vt. Sgt. a storm bolter, and you have yourself a handy way to harass lightly armored infantry.
