HEY GUYS! LONG TIME NO C!!!
ive been playing sm for a while now and couldnt find the time to get on the computer.. Now im gunna start the IG for some fun but i need some tips and help on what to get to make a supreme 8th cadian army.. help
start out with one hq and two troop choices and then add on from there. So in other words buy an hq and two box sets of gaurdsmen and then buy whatever you want from there.

(raise fist in defiance)

Well, since the cadians can field Grenadiers you might want to start off with two squads of Storm Troopers instead of regular guardsmen. Or since Cadians can use Conscripts you might want to buy a jillion infantry boxes and swarm someone with your 500 point cadian army using your cheap cheap conscripts
IG since '95.
get tanks. not a lot but at least three. and transports. then lots of troops. lots of troops.
after that go with heavy weapons teams with mortars. then pick your fight ing stile
lots of troops and some tanks 2 or 3 and use your hq for fire support and anti tank support squads u can olso use mortar squads at hq
Ummm, out of all the heavy weapons you can make from a heavy weapons squad, start with heavy bolters first. The shoot a LOT which brings up your chances of hitting something with the IG's pathetic BS skill. I would got with Lascannons after Heavy Bolters and then find room for some Autocannons to pick off lightly armored vehicles like Rhino's.
Heavy Weapons and a smattering of Tanks are the key to IG IMO.
