The question is fairly basic.
I would like to know which of the stock WH Inquisitor miniatures is the most effective game-wise, which of the configurations avaible in the blister is optimal for the Canoness and finally which of the stock Sister Superior / Veteran Sister Superior configurations works best in the game.
Thanks for help.
PS. Yes, I know they can be converted - but in this special case, I'm not going to do this for several reasons.
It depends on what you are giving them, say if Canoness has a jump pack, well then a Seraphim, if you are leaving them as is then just buy the regular GW models labeled Inquisitor, Canoness, and Sister Superior.
I don't think you have read my first post. Canoness blister offers several different weapon/wargear options. There are several Inquisitors, each with different weapon configs, and the same is true for VSS models.
Taking that into account I asked which of the specific configs avaible for each of these minatures will work best when translated into the rules present in Codex.
There are two Sister Superior models, one with BP&CCW, the other with PP&CCW, also there are those classic models with Combi-Weapons (I think my store still has a few blisters with them in stock), the Canoness blister comes with options of Power/Blessed Weapon, CCW/ Eviscerator, Bolt Pistol and Melta Pistol, not to mention a scroll and a book, and the Inquisitors have three variants, one with Inferno Pistol and what can seem to be a Powe Stake, one with Power/Force weapon and Bolter-Stake crossbow combi-weapon, and one with plasma pistol and power weapon.
I won't be painting this miniature for myself, and I don't want the person who will get it from me to BM&W that I sold him a miniature that's useless for gaming.
Why not just ask him what configuration he wants?Originally Posted by the_fifth_horseman
However, FWIW, I (and many others) go for the inferno pistol and sword as blessed weapon option on the canoness, and I think the bolt pistol/plasma pistol decision on the VSS comes down to whether you regard Gets Hot! weapons as a risk worth taking or not. Personally, I go for the plasma pistol and use the CCW as a power weapon on the VSS.
I don't use Inquisitors so can't help there, sorry.
On the cannoness I'd just use either sword to represent a Blessed Weapon, and try to convert the bolt/inferno pistol to a plasma pistol. I find the inferno pistol too short ranged on her to do much good.
Just make sure if you give her a plasma pistol that she has the cloak of st. aspira as well. Gets Hot! really isn't an issue when A) if you double tapped with it and rolled a 2, she'd still hit even though it overheated, and saving the gets hot! with a cloak on makes it way safer.
Ahh. You to, like myslef, were tricked by the WH codex. The Canoness Blister comes with all weapons options that you need apart from the Plasma pistol. All the different configurations in the WH codex are from the same blister.
For Vets the only ones that you can buy/get are armed with Plasma Pistol and CC weapon/Powerweapon. Keep the Plasma Pistol if you can, but remember you can also get another sister for that cost.
The Inquistors: I got hte Plasma Pistol/Powerweapon model, but only so I could convert her to having 2x Plasma Pistols. Its all really what you want to have your inqusitor equiped with. Some of the models just don't have the gear. And Remember that Henchmen can carry wargear too.
