Im confused on how this whole like HQ squad thing works. Could someone give me an example of their HQ?
Ok, first you have your officer, then his staff of 4 guardsmen.Included in th command platoon are a number of support squads if you want them..
then you have your Platoon, which also has a command squad as above, and then has anywhere between 2 and 5 squads of 10 infantry. like below
4 guardsmen, with a multitude of different wargear to choose from.
Support squads, such as Anit Tank, Fire Support, and Sentinel support
Platoon command, wich has one officer, and another 4 staff
1st/2nd/3rd...etc Squads, 10 man squads with special and heavy weapons if you desire.
Hope that helps

Anyways, I thought you were confused by the command structure...alot of people are :p
My HQ is a little like this:
Command Platoon(All with carapace Armor and SharpShooters doctrines)
-Junior Officer: Honorifica Imperialis, Storm Bolter
-Heavy Bolter Team
Anti Tank Support Squad
-3 Missile Launchers
this is a good command for a 1000 point battle IMO.
I gave my JO a storm bolter to help with ranged combat, because you don't ever want your Officer in CC. The Heavy Bolter is also a good choice because it pumps out alot of rounds which is good, the more shots you fire the more times you'll hit...hopefully
As for the Anti Tank support, it'll add a bit of anti armor to your army, just in case it is lacking.
Heh. Oops. Now if you'll excuse me I have an angry English company to hide from...
"Through most of the war we fought as nobles might. Never betraying, never decietful. But there came a point where tripping the soldier next to you might mean another day of life..."
Its just Im confused because Im so used to having 1HQ guy and then heres IG being all non-conformist with there HQ squads so im like "??". Thats my predicament, haha.
Such as...is this:
Senior OfficerPower Weapon, Laspistol, Carapace Armor,
Bionics & Medallion Crimson; 85
Command Squad 2 Guardsmen, 1 with Meltagun; 2 Veterans: 1 Medic, 1 Standard Bearer. 32
Fire Support Squad 6 Guardsmen, 3 Heavy Bolters. 80
Fire Support Squad 6 Guardsmen, 3 Autocannons. 95
4 Commissars Each with Power Weapon & Bolt Pistol. 46 EA
3 Sanctioned Psykers Each with Laspistol & Close Combat Weapon. 12 EA
:a single HQ choice?(found it on the GW website in the sample army list section)
That's right, although you should note that commissars, priests and sanctioned psykers do not count towards you're total allowance for HQ units.
