I'm a cheap cuss, so using multiple models carrying the various weapon options I know I'm going to want to play with seems wasteful. I've heard a few people mention drilling holes in the weapon sprues and models, and glueing in magnets to allow for easily switched weapons on both vehicles and infantry.
How would I go about this? What kinds of differences would I see when working with plastic models over vehicles such as dreadnoughts?
There is an article on this. It is for Tau tanks, but it should serve you the same.
1st of all, welcome to LO. Also, I'm moving to Edmonton soon(end of the summer holiday) maybe we could meet up and fight a few rounds
Adding magnets is pretty simple. Just get your hands on some magnets(I forgot the URL to a good site, I'll post it when I remembre it), drill some tiny holes in both the arm and shoulder(for infantry) and place the magnets in. Rmember that you want them to stick, so check the polarization before you glue them!
