The heed the wisdom of the ancients says Dreadnoughts may be taken as Heavy support or as elites. Does that mean i can take them as both or one or the other. All help appreciated.
This is correct. There are quite a few threads about SM armies with six dreads in them. The Eliete dreads must be venerable. I'm not sure if the heavy support dreads 'may' be venerable.
The elite dreadnoughts must be venerable, heavy support dreads may optionally be upgraded to veteran (nothing in the trait says they cannot, only that the elites must be)
the SM codex is always confusing with the usage of the words 'and', and 'or' ...
Yeah, and I believe all 6 dreads can be venerable, as all it says is that the 0-1 limit is lifted, it does not specify one or the other, so it must be for all.Yeah, the same goes for just about any GW rules publication, sadly.Originally Posted by Sangreal

Thanks for the help. I also called games-workshop and they said it is 6. Thank god it is cleared up.
In the future please search the forum before asking questions, this has been covered MANY MANY times.
