Salamanders have the option to have heavy flamer side sponsons for predator destructors. Is this a good idea? It doesn't seem like one as the tanks are too slow to move into an effective flamer range and then they're in range of charging, so they may get destroyed by grenades, and no-one in their right mind would move into heavy flamer range.

I've had similar problems with the Baal Predator. Never could get close enough to use the short range weapons. Sometimes with a horde army they'd swarm close enough, but for the most part they were a waste. You'd need something else to distract the enemy while your tank rumbles close.
