are landspeeders good or not
Flesh out that question.
Each Landspeeder type is used for different things, and has varying degrees of success.
I think the real question is, what do you want out of them?
Sam Mills (1959-2005) and Mark Fields - Keep Pounding
Cry Cheese, And Let Loose The Wraithlords And Templar!
give us more background about for what you are gonna use them and we can help you with comments and advise.
also use the search option because we have had a similair tread like this. Chaosbryun has wrote a very good article about landspeeders in all there forms.
Don´t mess with the dicegod
Land Speeders are very good! But only if you know how to use them, read the Land Speeder tactica and you'll get the hang of it.Originally Posted by INQUISITOR FREDDO

3 LST's are about the best unit we have for killing Tyranids as they have little that can down them and with rending they will avarage 2 wounds a turn on big bugs and 11 wounds on T4 Warriors/Genestealers.
Normal LS's with heavy bolters can sit 36" away and hit them or with Multi-melta's and deep strike.
My trio of LST's are one of my most cost effective units.
Every time you read this sig: a fairie dies!
Just popped by to say YES!
Landspeeders are fantastic units. Nearly every variant can be used to devastating effect. Personally my favorite (and most peoples) is the Land Speeder Tornado with Heavy bolter and Assault Cannon. Be sure to read my speeder tactica, witch has been linked for you above as they are very different from all other units in the marine army. Speeders are a finess weapon, not a sledge hammer.
Fantastic Points VS Efficiency Rating
Superb Offensive Prowess
Landpseeders are best used as the surgical scalpel in the marine list. If you arent careful, they will snap, but if used correectly, they can cut out any annoying tumors in your oponents army. The tactica goes over how to keep them safe.
So, in conclusion, yes Land Speeders are very good. I highlly recommend everyone find place for them in their list.
Mentor of Space Marine Commanders far and wide.
Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:
1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant
2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers
3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC
Lanspeeder looks really good and i think can be good in my army. I have just buy one and next week i will buy next 2.
A have a heavy termi army with some tactical and dread support. LST can be good for falnking and take objetives.
Land speeders are one of the most annoying units in the SM codex. They are extremely useful, both in firepower and in their ability to piss off the opponent
Using them as cheap fast scoring units generally annoys opponents, as well as their amount of firepower.
One of the biggest problems with speeders is that most of the variants suck with the tornado being by far the most useful one. Multimelta speeders are okay, but have a horrible habit of missing dramatically and then dying or just being totally useless because they're not versatile
Can you arm a LST with a Assault cannon and a Multi Melta? Someone pulled this on me the other day and I forgot to ask him to prove it.
