Welcome to Librarium Online!
how do u guys deal with the power armoured ones?
this can include chaos if yas want
what do u lot take against them?
are flamers useless against them?
wot do u do about termys with tooled up comanders in em
and for the chaos scum, what the hell do u do to kill a DEAMON PRINCE ahhhhhh
talk people talk
As usual, meltas, meltas, meltas!
Include lots of multimeltas! For heavy support use Multimeltas equipped to Retributors.
Include meltaguns in each SoB squad, and if you have IST the include plasma guns.
Your hq's should be equipped for combat, and supported with numbers.
Zealots will help up your number incredibly and create a great 'Shoot Me!' front line effect, with enemies having to pass a Ld test to shoot anything else. (exc. vehicles of course)
a saying that I use as my mantra for witch hunters is this;
"The gentlest of waves will eventually wear down the tallest of mountains"
have faith in the bolter and number of shots you can get
"Ah.. i'm almost done with these 3rd quater spreadsheets and still no sign of.."
"What, is up, my dog?"
"Ughhh I'm not your dog"
"Waterman, you crack me up! that's why you're my D-O-G-E"
"Your Doge? What are you talking about? I'm Strong Bad Waterman works in retial shipping resources"
"Ah-ha Good one waterman, I mean good one MY DOG"
Exactly, our Battle Sisters will outnumber them significantly whilst fielding almost the same equipment. In close range Bolter shooting the Marines would not stand a chance, especially if you're using Acts of Faith.
Keep a unit of Celestians and a Canoness geared up for close combat ready in case you've got to go mano-a-mano with the Marines.
"Do you want your heretic rare, medium or well done, Lord Inquisitor?"
what? no no no no. thats how you take on an armored company not a power-armored company. meltas are too short ranged to be very usefull at troop killing. As usual, meltas, meltas, meltas!
besides we have a much better source of AP1 that is much more effective on the whole. its an act of faith called divine guidance. any to wound roll of 6 counts as AP 1. this means any weapons. flamers, bolters anything the squad has. make all your sisters faithful so they can contribute to the faithtotal. I have two troop squads that do very well against power armored foes.
total points: 224
this squad has lots of models and can take quite a bit of hits before anything bad actually happens to it. when using divine guidance between 12 and 24 inches you should kill on average 3.7 marines. thats pretty good.
the next squad is as fallows
brazier of holy fire
total points 209
when these ladies pop out of the rhino first time I am within rapid fire range and assuming I have on average 5 marines under each of the 3 flamers I should kill about 6.7592. thats REALLY good. and that doesn't include CC afterwards.
aside from the excorcist and heavy bolter retributers with divine guidance that should be all you'll need to lay the hurt on them.
Althought in the end, it really depends on your playing style, you shouldn't really go outside your playing style, for instance if you have lots of sisters use divine guidance, but if you have less sisters and more specialits look for ways to use them to full effect, for example: A full unit of Acros would be more more useful if they charged Termies over a normal SM squad, and as far as and Depp Striking unit, MELTAS!!! and assault, the meltas will let you pop a few and assaulting them is much better than them assaulting you!
If you could, what is the bassis of your army? what squads do you have? how do you normally play? Answering these questions will help us help you, but in the end its up to you to make the choise that best fits your playing style.
The other memebers have said most of it, but I need to shout EXORICST! Those things can really humble a termie sqaud. And Deamon Prince. But Termies are toast, especially when hit by multiple crack misslies. Alternativley, 4x Retributors w/ Multi-Meltas in an Immolator w/ twin-linked Multim-Meltas is just as good.
As for Deamon Princes: Psycannon Bolts. I think that the Deamon Prince only has a 4+ inv. so Psycannon bolts will ingnore. Inqusitors w/ These in storm Bolters are good. Also Inqusitor retunie w/ Plasma Cannon is good too. CSM + SM will not like that, as they will not be expecting that.
As Stalin said "Quantity has its own type of quality". Lots of Bolter shots with divine guidance is always an excellent soloution to any problem.
Hope that helps, and good luck,
dont go with meltas, they are to short ranged...youll get one shot off before you get charged or charge....that means that if 1/2 your meltas hit and kill a space marine you will still be down point wise...dont underestimate flamers, as you can still charge with them and while they may not seem great, the way you kis space marines is just make them keep rolling saves and theyll eventually fall....(im not saying all melta guns are bad, but i wouldnt go UBER heavy on them) exorcists are nice, but mainly for vehicle hunting (but if you run out of vehicles they can do a number on marines) archoflaglents are WONDERFUL if you can get them into CC as are penitent engines....but thats a big IF....id just go with lots and lots of immolaters, heavy bolters, bolters and bodies
well tbh i was jus wondering wot u guys do cos i was bored n that
n its useful to check other tactics out n that
i have sisters a plenty
the seraphim with the hand melta thingys
tooled up cannoness
celestians in immolator
ist with plasma (lol i jus liked the models :p )
i wanna exorcist aswell but i dun have the money yet
we really shud have a thread for 'Witch Hunters VS Tau' or other nasty armys like nids
