i havnt bought a heavy weapon teams box yet cash problem and i normally borrow someone elses so what is in the box it says you can build 3 different heavy weapon teams and i was wondering if with the spare bits you will have could you make more if you have some spare gaurdsmen parts or older gaurd heavyweapons teams which i have ??
The box contains 6 IG and parts enough to make either:
3 Heavy Bolters
However there are only enough tripods and gun shields to make 3 of them, the others require conversion, someone clever managed to make all the weapons from one box and posted a picture and guide.
Every time you read this sig: a fairie dies!
where can i find this guide cos it could save alot of money and i like conversions it adds originality to an army
making your own gun shields out of plastic is very easy, something i highly recommend doing cause i think the guns look better with the shields. I only get 9 per box (3 big guns on tripods, 3 mortars or 3 heavy bolters on the bipods and then 3 missile launcher guys which can either be standing, kneeling, or prone, I'd suggest kneeling or prone i think it looks more realistic. of course this all assumes you have a bunch of regular guardsmen to use in the conversions) I like this cause while you only get 9 HWs instead of 15 (still up 6 from what GW wants you to believe you can get) you will have enough leftover HW bits for future conversions(aka building that autocannon turret for your Chimera or building your own sentry/turret emplacements, cause really paying forgeworld prices for stuff you can easily build yourself is mildly retarded, or you can save 5 bucks and just buy regular sentinels and put whatever weapons on them that you want instead of buying the cadian/steel legion versions, building armored crew compartments is pretty easy too) there are just so many easy conversions possible that can make you army stand out a little

15 squads from one box aint bad its gunna save me a lot of money and make my army look different just got to rummage through the bits box at my local club for some original looking barricades to hold the guns up. aswel as some sprue frame
The easiest conversions are to make standing missile launchers and use the bipods and tripods to make mortars and one other type of heavy weapon. If you have some converting skills then it's quite easy to make guardsmen lying down to fire heavy bolters too, like the Steel Legion heavy weapons teams.
