    Catachans, Officers and Power Fists

Can catachan officers still take power fist, or do they fallow the rank rules for wargear?

And if so I've been thinking about a catachan army, more for convertions than power gaming that is (if it's possible to power game with them) with power fists to drop the jaws of SM players with 3-4 S6 attacks, and just lots of heavy flamers to boot.

If not I could use some doctrines to make a homedmande one, anybody as suggestions on what to do? I'd use some of these:

    doctrines
    Jungle fighters
    Veterans
    Iron Discipline
    Warrior Weapons
    Conscripts
    Special Weapons
    Hardened Fighters
    Die Hards

    Any Ideas ?

    Best Regards,
    Wolf_Pack

Firstly, have you downloaded the free Catachan Codex, from GW's website?

An officer may be given equipment form the IG armoury, so I assume they may take powerfists. Also, this has a powerfist, so I assume they may take them --why have a model if they can't?

    Hope I've helped.

Well GW codes rewriting as been know to create illegal models, like the wood elf mage on a warhawk, just making sure of it. I do have the catachan codex, ( actual copy ^_^ ) and the mroe I think of it, the more it appeals to me to scratch build my own with the doctrines, as the catachan can on inflitrate in jungle terrain. I can recreate pretty much all the rules they have and be more flexible too.

Exactly! Sounds like a very fun project to me. Enhancing specialised fighters sounds interesting and rewarding, but a little tricky, too. Good luck Wolf_Pack, if you need any other help, PM me.

You do realise that there is a newer version of it available from the GW website that makes the cold codex obsolete?

There are some differences that adjust for the new rulebook and codex. I wish I could include a unit of Patrolers for Fast attack though.
Three Companies of the 26th Vinancium
    143rd Airborne Badgers (99.9% done)
    159th Corsair Rifles (35% done))
69th Armored Wall Busters (95% done)

Total 197 men, 12 tanks, 4 Heavy Artillery Pieces

I think it's only the ruleset for jungle fighting as an update, thoer than that, I can't see any diferences.

the deathworld lists are great. the whole army can infiltrate, every other squad can ambush, and the best part...70pt squads of catachans w/ three demo charges.

Not true, they can only infiltrate in jungle terrain, and ambush requires the game to fallow the jungle fighting rules, wich I have yet to play....
