    Terminators. Are they worth it?

    Hey everyone,

I'm in the process of building up my Blood Angels army and I needed some advice. I want to get a Terminator Squad but my freind keeps telling me that their not worth the point cost and that I shouldnt't include them in my army. I just wanted some advice from people that know a little bit more about the game. So, is it worth getting a Terminator squad or should I spend my money on something else?

    Thanks

Terminators are certainly worth the points. However, as a blood angel player, the chance of losing them to DC severly lessons their usefulness. In general, BA players stay away from terminators and go with things that will get them free points when sent to DC.

That being said, 5 termies with 2 ac's could still do a lot for you. You just have to deal with the fact that sometimes the squad will only be 3 or 4 members large.

Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:

    1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant

    2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers

    3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC

I like to take terminators with a force commander and assualt cannons. I mostly deepstrike them. IMO t's are good except for their hurendous pt cost.

On a good day you'll have a full squad. On a bad day you just paid 40 points for a unit that is now worth 25

In other armies Terminators are always an excellent choice due to the fact they have assault cannons and are tough to remove from the board. They are well worth their points cost, in my opinion.

Pure evil and scary how ever don't come in until Chaos Terminators show up...Nothing makes you say "ah damn it" quite like Khornate terminators charging you....Or even better : Nurgle terminators vs Guardsmen (hehe...)

T's are good if you are fighting armies with few ap 2 weapons like Necrons or nids, but you will still lose them to over amounts of shooting

I'll also advise you to keep Termies (and landraiders) away from Ork armies. There's nothing worse then paying all those points for the models only to have some green freak with a half-sharpened wedge of steel nullify that tasty, tasty 2+ save.
And who's to say us ork players aren't nice, well balanced peo-WAAAAGH!

    In reply to "citybeatnik" comment:

I'll remember that next time my Furioso is tearing through an Ork armies left flank. Thanks for the heads up though .

No problem man, it's a pleasure. I've just run into plenty of people who are surprised by the abilities of the humble choppa, and felt like it was something you should take into account if you play orks alot. ^_-
And as for the furioso... eh. Once you wash the dead guy out of it with a nice helping of squig juice, it makes a fine and dandy set of mega-armour.

    Touche "citybeatnik".....

Ya, when I started playing I saw an 11 year old kid with an Ork army beat the living snot out of a Chaos defiler and many Chaos units that could rip any army apart. I never underestimate the power of orks. Thanks for the tips and the best of luck to you in ur battles . And i'll take u up one day on that jug of whatever u call it. :p . Thanks
