Bob: Move the troops into those strategic positions to face the chaos scum!
Magnus: *Eyes glow* You want to move the troops into the minefield.
Bob: *Turns to Sergeant* No, move them into the minefield instead.
    Magnus: Heh.

Please try a little harder than this poet.

As for myself, I quite like tacking a mounted Librarian onto a Bike squad. He can cause a nice, healthy amount of damage that way (especially if the squad has Furious Assault). However, my absolute favourite is the Master. Why, you ask? Because he is very good in CC (albeit, not as good as the chaplain) and his special rules bump every model in the army up to his leadership value. This isn't only useful for Shooty armies (which don't have the liberal sprinkling of Veteran Sergeants that all out CC armies do), but is a great benefit for the type of "balanced" army that I like to field.

First off i dont want to sound like a mod want to be but there would be a tone of old threads identical to the one you have created so next time perhaps you should search before you post.My personal HQ favourite is the good old chaplain.Free power wep and invulnerable save and reroll all to hits on the charge ah yes please.Chaplain all the way.
    Cheers,

so i'll add another question: which is your favourite command squad?
i play a 6 ppl squad of veterans with 2 meltas and a powerfisted, plasmapistoled sergeant

Taking a plasma pistol on your power fist VS could be a little foolhardy, as you might lose him to overheating, thus losing not one but two special weapons. I would suggest droping the pistol.
I don't use a command squad, but about the HQ my choice is the chaplain. Did you ever see what a 14-strong Black Templars squad can do to anything on the charge with a chaplain? It's simply amazing.
